Test is easy.. But it is hard to get on.. You have to apply on the internet, and you have to be lucky to get picked for an interview.. I have family that has worked there for over 30 yrs, including my father.. And i still cant get in. Good Luck

Corbin just had one posted on the internet.. Hiring 10. They had over 1200 applications.. they will interview 30-40 people.. COrbin will be hiring alot of conductors at the beginning of the year.. Check www.csx.com every day..

https://careers.csx.com/psp/ERECRUIT/EMPLOYEE...

CLick on job postings and type in conductor.. alot of people are retiring, thats why they are hiring so many now, corbin's yard is doubling the work at the beginning of the yea.. You get $1400 every two weeks while your in Atlanta, GA for 6 weeks going through training. Plus motel is free, food money, and they pay 55 cents a mile for you to travel down and back one time.

If you get hired. You start out at $560 a week for 8 weeks i think, then it goes up to $662 a week for 18 weeks.. Then after that you get over $20 an hour.

It used to be a good place to work. Now they hide in the bushes or watch you with binaculars waiting for you to mess up so they can fire you. If you get a job ther just try to follow their rules 100% so you dont get fired. Cutting short cuts was done for years and prodution was good but now it will get you fired. period!

No that means you cant do your job if you follow their rules, then they want to know. it is a double edge sword.

FMLA you must be doing something else other than working when your there...you CANNOT take off whenever you want unless you have the days to do so. CSX is a good paying job but they treat their employees like CRAP and there is a few bosses that need took out back and the SHIZZLE beat out of them. But thats just my opinion.

I thought CSX paid better than what was mentioned above. I'm surprised that they have any money left to pay anybody since all the older guys sued them (and won) for health issues.

It is amazing that all these guys sue the railroad and cant work. They can find the ability to run a vending service, lawn mowing service, or work out 8 hrs a day 6 days a week or play softball. It is therapeutic i guess.lol

It is a good place to work. The crews that work the road make plenty of money but they lay out there and earn it. I keep the yard crews busy purifying sets an pulling arch when there is other things more important. Every one cannot understand but I am creating job security and overtime for the men.
