Heard Gail has code enforcement working like crazy at Osprey Point red tagging those small houses so they can knock them down and replace them with new bigger ones.
This way they can bring in her artiest friends and clear out the low lifers.
Let her move to the Southampton, oh wait she can't afford that and she would be their low lifer.

Your hearing is blocked with the contents of septic systems disloged by Sandy. Disregard. That stuff was there before.

News to me,I know she is trying to clean up Osprey Point but I have not heard anything about her chasing out the small home owners.
At the last workshop a woman there said that a code enforcer came into her mothers house on Shore DR with out permission and commended it and fined them but she did not say anything about knocking it down.
Anyone hear more about this?

I think the owners of these condemned houses must realize they will not be able to just re-Sheetrock and paint. Most of them will need to be raised, and built to withstand even more severe storms than Sandy. Some will not have the financial wherewithal unfortunately. The original poster seems to want to imply the village is not acting judiciously.

Ahh. So Brady you are suggesting that Gail and Gary should raise their houses? There is nothing in the law that says people in condemned houses have to raise them to make them livable again. In fact is it as simple as sheet rocking and painting as well as bleaching.

I love how I can rile you up with made up shit. I am just stating my opinion. You want to rebuild on the ground, go ahead. The smart ones will lift their houses up. Did you see the way they fixed the breach? Good luck with the next bad Nor'Easter.

Oh wait the concrete contains sand as well. Also, the concrete goes on top of the sand.
and Peter Brady goes under Gary's desk every day to polish his boots for him.
Go ahead, build it again just the way it was. But don't expect different outcome when a real hurricane hits. The smart people are lifting their houses, and those who don't...good luck!

funny how most of the rentals are being condemned. Friends of the village are fine, but most that were rentals are being illegally condemned. They walk up, know its a rental, and condemn it. GO VILLAGE!!!! And they are fining contractors that are working down here if they aren't part of "the village". Face it. The village needs to raise a million dollars to pay for the code enforcers or they need to raise taxes. What better way then to get rid of rentals and fine contractors. To all of you that voted yes to this village..... Thanks. You suck.

How? Good luck getting the village to allow any of us to raise our houses. They wont. If you rent out your house, they wont let you. Face it, the village suxs.

Many of the rental houses were falling apart before the storm. Sandy finished the job.Of course the low life realtors and their absentee lanlords who don't give a damn if someone dies in their firetrap waqnt to sheetrock and get the section 8 checks rolling in again. Not this time scumlords. Folks will have a decent place to live or the house should be condemmed. Go village!

Town of Brookhaven rental permits were grandfathered by the village. Big mistake to let Crookhaven permits stand for the scumlords have been paying Crookhaven inspectors for generations.
