The cesspool probably covered the smell of the body

The Suffolk detectives never looked in the cesspool for the Mastic Beach man because they feel all of Mastic is an open cesspool.

This is an obvious act of discrimination towards someone living in Mastic,Mastic Beach, Shirley area.

How the hell does the missing persons squad and the homicide squad miss an open cesspool, for almost 2 years??? Unless his wife threw him there!! We have some real geniuses working for SCPD huh!!!

Well, this isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of the SCPD, is it?

That's an odd place to hide, even for someone from Mastic!
Maybe we need to increase the pay for SCPD so we can get some investigators who can find missing persons within 50 feet of their house in less than 2 years!?!

My condolences to the family and friends of this unfortunate man. Imagine how frightening and terrible a way to die.

He was a person with relationships, hobbies, maybe a job. He had a life that was taken away from him.

It's terrible to think he died alone and suffering.

May Nicolo Caietta rest in peace.

I know the body was found in Mastic Beach, but did they have to identify the place as a cesspool?

After laughing my a$$ off, I realize this must be sad for this family.

The people in M A S T I C just can't stay out of the news. Snoozeday should dedicate a whole section to their daily activities.

In closing, let me say "great police work"...three years ago!
