This article in the Polk County News sounds like it is written to justify putting a four lane road through the national forest. I don't believe the huge dollar figures that are being reported in this article, all of them seem very high, just a way once again to justify spending hard earned citizens tax dollars for a road that would ruin the natural beauty of the Cherokee National Forest.

What about the road work coming up the mountain in Benton/Old Fort? Been through there several times and have not noticed any more work going on (yet the speed limit remains 35) HA, did see the Purple Bus is still there. Any plans to finish that soon?

Hwy 64 gets delayed, TDOT doing what it does best, wasting tax dollars and doing a poor job at the same time.
