Went to EggTown when it first opened. Had a late breakfast. The food was good, but a couple of things I hope have been changed:
1. The toast looked like it was cooked on a grill. One side was not browned at all.
2. Also ordered a funnel cake to go. It took nearly half an hour to get it, then it was very poor. Funnel cakes are supposed to have a bit of sweetness to them, even without powdered sugar on them. This was just bland and no taste.
I know someone who works there and was informed that these problems have been corrected, so will be trying it again soon.

My wife and I went there a few weeks ago and the food was great. If she is happy with the food, it has to be OK. We will be back. Keep it up. I know you can't please everyone.

Shaun
First I have been pretty happy with the food for the most part. The pancakes are AWESOME. The home fries being the smaller chunks NOT GOOD. The big chunks that were offered when you first opened were GOOD. The little chunks are too hard and crunchy. Either myself, or my family has a little of everything on the menu and for the most part are happy.
The wait staff on the other hand is another story. I have had experience with at least four different wait staff that were dismal at best. I for one can guarantee that poor wait staff will run off customers just as fast as bad food will. I really think that it is silly when I ask for a sausage taco for breakfast and wait staff (young lady) asks would you like sausage or bacon in that breakfast taco.. Duh. This has happened on more than one occasion so it was not simply a slip of the tongue. The other thing is when a customer asks for butter or sugar or syrup or something of that nature and it takes 5 minutes or more bring back to the table that is a little long to wait. When I have dined in, I see that you have a sufficient number of wait staff however, the wait staff you have may be killing your business. Please understand that I am not saying that ALL of your staff is sub par, just a few. If you provide me an email I will tell you who I am talking about as I will not tell you here.

Sorry to here that "Retired 1SG", but yes both of those problems have been corrected, we now have an actual toaster oven for our toast and are no longer doing it on the griddle top, we have also changed our funnel cake mix, "went to a different brand" that is 10 times better then the one that we were using when we first opened.

"food good", a good server does seem very hard to find in this town for some reason, i have let ALOT of people go the past couple weeks, infact i am down to only 4 servers for just that reason, please just be patiant as i am currently trying to restaff and get the right people in the right places, would it make it better if i just started leaving those items on the table unstead of keeping them in the back where the servers have to bring them to you. My email is Sintist@hotmail.com, any help would be greatly appreciated

Butter, syrup and other condiments on the table makes sense. It would save the customer some frustration and would save the server unnecessary runs back and forth to the kitchen.
I'll check you out again in a couple of days.

So far all the people making comments seem to be sincere. Be carefull as some people will say bad things just to be nasty. I haven't been yet but have heard some good comments.

any advice is good advice, in the food business you cant take everything to heart, its just to hard to try to please everyone, my goal is to just make sure that when people do come in that they leave with a smile no matter what the situation might be, once a customer leaves mad the chances of getting them back are slim to none. Any feedback is good feed back weather it is negative or positive because its all a learning experience.

Shaun, I applaud your bravery in opening up this discussion, it really shows your genuine & sincere endeavor to better your business, I'm sure Joe & Vickie appreciate it as well.
My family and I have visited twice & both times found the service along with the food to be quite good.
I stop by once or twice a week to p/u food for work and have for the most part been pleased.
My husband however is a bit bitter at the fact that he has tried to get one of your famous cinnamon rolls 4 times & every time you have been out. It is my quest to be able to bring him one soon!:)
I know you have asked for menu suggestions so here is one for you,
how about Cap'n Crunch french toast for a signature item? Can't go wrong with the Cap'n!

My kids have been begging to try it out, but my 1 year old isn't very resturaunt friendly (she's a yeller when she's had enough), so I'm waiting for dh to get home so he can take the older ones. It looks cute from the outside.

We have been to Eggtown several times, the food has always been good, breakfast especially. The wait time has been slow at times which can be especially frustrating if you only have 1 hour for a lunchbreak. I do have to agree with FoodGood, the wait staff just haven't been the best, a little slow and don't really seem to have a clue what is going on. One lunchtime we ordered several items and after about 15 mins she came back to tell us that you were out of them which was irritating. Apart from that thumbs up hopefully you will find some good wait staff and you should be well on your way to success.

Shaun, thanks for asking for our input. I went for the second time on 09 Oct, and my green plastic coffee cup was stained on the inside. I didn't notice this until after I drank half of my coffee. I used my fingernail to scratch at the stain and it left a mark! Well, I asked the waitress if she could pour me another cup of coffee but in a clear glass (like a water glass) and she did but she didn't ask me why and I didn't want to tell her but I'm telling you. But, other than that, that is my only complaint. Like I said, it was my second time there because I thoroughly enjoyed my first time there. And, my husband has been there three times. I haven't noticed any bad waitstaff. In fact, I mentioned to my husband how nice they were. I was there around 10:30 and was served by a blond girl if that helps identify a good waitress for you. And, maybe, ceramic cups would help keep the coffee stains away. And, I think the decor is just right. I like the drawings, paint colors and the wooden furniture. Thanks for letting me give you feedback.

I have been to Eggtown several times and have always left satisfied. The wait for food has been a little long at times but nothing to keep me from returning. People must remember that this is NOT a fast food establishment. I know that there have been a few changes to your operating hours. One suggestion, how about a marquee outside to let passerbys know of your hours. You could also use it to announce new items or menu changes. Advertising in local establishments (the new theater for example) would be an excellent way to bring in customers. Keep up the good work because the best advertisement is a happy customer. :)

We are overall very happy with the restaurant. The food is good for the most part. I am not pleased with the potatoe pieces as they were not cooked all the way both times I got them. My husband gets an omelet like thing and loves it and that says alot in our opinion. I have to agree with the person that commented on the wait staff. We had our food given to another customer and then when the error was found out they just brought it over to our table after the other customer had sat there and stared at it and forked around in it for couple of minutes trying to figure out what was wrong. When it did get to our table it was cold, I dont mean cool I mean cold. I was pleased that they remade my order and didnt just heat it up that said alot for the cook. We will come back as like I said over all the food is very good, work on the wait staff and you will have a winning restaurant.

I'm glad someone else brought up the potatoes. I went through the drive through a few mornings ago and have some suggestions if you'd like to hear them:
1) While I know this isn't a drive-thru intensive establishment a full menu with prices would be nice so one isn't shocked when the price for their meal is quoted like I was. 9$ for one meal of french toast and no drink was enough to scare me away for good especially since 60% of my container was potatoes.
2) Your wait staff as mentioned. I simply asked if an item was available and she started taking my order for it instead of answering my question.
3)Everything was delicious except the potatoes. I found myself spitting out hard potato skin on more then one occasion.
Good luck with your establishment and I hope you continue to prosper.
