I'm just curious if anyone has had problems with UPS delivering empty boxes/stealing? I ordered 2 packs of blank DVDRs and a new HD and when he dropped off the box he didn't ring the doorbell or anything. I knew he was here because I heard the thud against the door when he threw the box down. I also noticed the box was very light even though it was big, and since Newegg is as bad as amazon when it comes to over packing I didn't think anything of it until I started opening the box. I noticed that it had been ripped open and retaped. Then when I got through the 20 (literally) feet of packing paper the box was completely empty. No DVDRs, HD or anything. Anyone else have this problem with UPS here? I would blame Newegg but in the 7+ years I have done business with them and the hundreds of orders I have placed through them, I have never had an issue.

No, haven't had the problem here, but I worked as a Warehouse/Shipping Manager a few years back for a company in Leander and we had many complaints from customers who received orders we had shipped UPS, i.e., box had been opened and re-taped closed, items missing, etc. It's evidently being done at their sort facility.

I'm looking at my tracking info and it went to Mesquite and Belton. I just hope I can get this resolved quickly. It was nothing time sensitive it just irks the hell out of me when people can't keep their hands to themselves. I hope they blow up their computer when they try to install that hard drive. At best they get a nice hard jolt of electricity that leaves them with a nasty twitch for the rest of their life. *evil laugh* Jerks.

Not saying it isn't true but I have been getting deliveries through UPS since day one in this area and have never had one problem. It has averaged 2-3 deliveries per week.Sometimes as many as 5-6 packages per day. If I were you I would file a claim at once.

Filed a claim through both UPS and Newegg this morning. Should be taken care of fairly quickly. Oyes, I understand where you are coming from. I have never had an issue with UPS until this, however I wondered if it was a coincidence or if I should be concered since I just moved to Cove and this was the first UPS delivery I have had here.

I've had a package vanish. It was about 3 weeks ago. Dh had just got back from Iraq and was out front cleaning his car. I was waiting on a box. Never came. The next day I checked the tracking and UPS said they delivered it to the door. I filed a claim and never heard back. I called Amazon and they resent it.

I have seen a UPS truck backed up at the garage of a house in Cove several times. I have often been currious as to what they are doing.

I used to work for UPS in the mid 80's and when a package is damaged in transit it's taped up and shiped. The damage is done usualy by the belts and cages that carry the packages when sorted. If there are any broken parts they are placed back in the box and the package is taped up and placed back on the line.(I've seen tv's cut in half by the equipment placed back in the box and taped up and sent). The driver has nothing to do with it. The closer you get to xmas the more the system is overloaded and even more damage ocures.I never heard of any driver stealing. It would be very easy to catch a driver stealing. You need to file a claim and tell them that the package was damaged in trainsit and the items were not in the box.

Thank you for that insight Jim. I have already filed a claim and should get a replacement shipment in about a week. I'm a very cynical person so my initial instincts are to blame humanity before machinery.
