I really hope they don't treat this as just some guy that was a trouble maker who had tattoos all over . Artie was a good man. He had a bigger heart then anyone I have ever known. He was nice to everyone but often miss judged because of his size. He was my Big Teddy Bear. His family and loved ones are concerned that the police department were told different version s of what happened that night. I knew Arther well, I first met his contracting as a Diesel mechanic on Ft. Hood,a fellow wrench turner that became much more then that, a man that I knew would always be dear to my heart . A beautiful man that did 'nt deserve this fate. We love you Artie...

Cove man found dead Print E-mail
by Crystal McCoy Tuesday May 19, 2009

Arthur Clark Bielawski was found dead in a parking lot at 507 Hackberry St. just after 2 a.m. Friday, making him the first homicide of the year in Cove.

Copperas Cove police and EMS responded to the scene of a bachelor party where they found Bielawski, a 31-year-old male from Copperas Cove, with a gunshot wound to his chest. Coryell County Justice of the Peace Bill Price pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Price ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. He said preliminary autopsy results state the manner of death as a homicide.

"The cause of death is listed as a gunshot wound to the chest," Price said. "We'll have to get with the police department and talk to them about the underlying manner of death. We'll have to see if it is deemed an accident or if they find some intent."

The case is still under investigation by Copperas Cove Police Department. The CCPD blotter lists the incident as an accidental discharge of a firearm.

"We've got a lot to do on this still," said Lt. Danny Austin.

The media reports it as the first homicide of the year in Cove. Then the CCPD blotter lists the incident as an "accidental discharge of a firearm"??!!
I didn't know this man, but others have told me he was truly a nice, honest guy, a good man.
I'm sure more will be following.

I was a close friend of Billy's. I actually have been looking to get in contact with him again. Since he moved to Texas I lost contact with him. But never thought this would be the way I would find him. My thoughts and prayer go out to the family.

I was a very close friend to Billy and I was wondering if anyone has heard anything else about this case. I have been looking up the articles, but never find anything new about the investigation end of things. Thanks for any information that you can provide me with.
