Guess she doesn't like it here any longer.
The City Council could send her packing also. She could even take the City Secretary with her.
I'm sure this will generate a lot of buzz from Mr. Peterson and Mr. Clayton as to how lucky we are to have her, blah, blah, blah, etc., etc., etc.
Bring it on, gentlemen.

The job was given to someone else. Who knows if that came from Huntsville's end or Andrea Gardners. Either way, thank goodness she's still here.

I agree. Thank goodness she's still here. She is a smart woman who handles herself well.
But I wouldn't blame her for wanting to leave here with all the meanness pushed her way, by people who don't even have a reason beyond "let's clean house" or "I don't like how she was acting manager first". Oh, well. Can't please everyone.
But the majority are happy to have her and her knowlege and bravery. She does a good job sticking up for her employees.

Retired 1SG,

Man you beat all I ever seen. Just who in the hell do you like? You really have no clue or an ass to grab ahold of to make a face to face with anyone that you want to send packing? If you feel that strong, why don't you just call city hall and make an appointment with the CM and tell her what your problem is, ask some questions and then report back to all of us.

No Guts, No Glory!!!

I hope you stood up in the military, now stand up in civilian life and do the right thing, confront your issues face to face and then report back to us in the same vigor that you cut people down with and talk about in this blog.

You talk the talk, now walk the walk big man.

You apparently aren't to lucky and have just enough misinformation to convince a few you are right. We have good things happening but you are convinced that it can't be true. Well just watch. The city managers door is open to all if you will take the time. Copperas Cove does not revolve around you or me. So continue you negative barrages and have a good day.

But, but, but, we were told that O'Dwyer made people leave.

He is gone, and since then, the Fire Chief was "voluntarily" and immediately retired, the lawyer's contract has been terminated, and the "perfect" city manager is actively seeking employment elsewhere.

Maybe the real problem wasn't the mayor.

When Alexander left the cause was supposedly because of the Mayor. Could it be that the actions of the Fab 4 are about to run off our City manager.

We need a full time attorney and Mr Thompson did not want to leave his private practice.
The fire chief had his own reasons for retiring and should be his choice to explain why.
You have made as others remarks about the city manager that are your opinion but not always factual or flattering. If I was in her position I would want to go where I was wanted and not have to spend a large amount of my time regressing.

Apparently you don't read the news papers. Believe it or not things have been said in the press that are not true. No one wants to fight every day with negative press caused by some council members and citizens. ODie ODwyer started this by continuously violating the charter and not heeding repetitive warnings by 2 councils. Enough is enough. Now those who think he was wronged are willing to shut the city down to prove it. Would you want to stay here under those conditions when you could start ?

Um, no, I haven't changed my "mine" I don't even own a mine. How does one even change a mine?

Note, I am not complaining about you and your klan packing up and leaving. I am only making note of your idiotic words and how you keep blaming O'Dwyer.

Sorry if the truth hurts, but since you don't have a mine it will not hurt you :-)

Isn't it strange that we only hear from 2 of the 7 councilpersons. Guess they are the spokepersons for the Council.

You just like the argument, don't you? Does it make you feel important? "Well, look, Mildred. I got all those folks all fired up and paying attention to me and I didn't even have to say something smart, just mean."

Do you know something about the past Fire Chief not voluntarily leaving? Are you saying he was fired???
Hmmm, don't think he'd like to hear that.
