think this place might make it different quality but we will see. People in this town don't seem to support much of anything. I can not believe the money Giovanni's is sinking into their new building.
Hope they improve their food quality as well to go with that huge new building. Have to say it is looking nice so far.

Not sure what Black Megs is, does have my curiosity peaked though, I am always happy to welcome & support any new business, especially if it is locally owned...variety is a nice option in our small town, I remember when all we had was Storms & A&W :)

As far as Giovannis, I am so excited for their new place to open, I truly believe it will be a huge success for them, they are doing what our town needs, reinvesting the $$$ they have made into our economy while creating a nicer dining atmosphere.

Plus, no matter what your opinion is of them, I think everyone needs to know that Maura & her partner are "silent angels' in our community...
Every time I seek donations for one of our schools or civic orginizations, they give freely & generously, alot of folks don't know but our schools held "Camp Invention" this summer & were sorely in need of sponserships for kids who couldn't afford to attend, Maura wrote me a check for $500.00 to help which provided 5 kiddos the chance to go. That to me is amazing......
It would be nice if you get a chance to thank her...

They will be successful. Also they will have a nicer place with real brick oven pizza and you can have a glass of wine or beer with your meal. It's going to be a real nice dinning experience.

Been here for 30 years....it's good to see new places opening. We like to put our $$ into local businesses and support them when we can. Excited about the new Giovannis going up. Their food is better than Olive Garden's chain food. I hope they re-add some of their old menu items they took off, though! Miss linguini with clams and zita/broccoli/sausage. Going to check out Black Meg's...looking forward to a good burger.

I saw the free cut up burger samples they were offering at the HEB the past week......it didn't look appealing so I passed. I hope the food at the actual restaurant doesn't look like that.

Hi, We, along with my brother Bob are the new owners of Black Meg 43, First Black Meg was a cow born in the early 1800's she was purchased by William Fullerton of Angus Scotland, Black Meg (43)(43 being her registered number)Since more Angus cattle can be traced back to her than any other Heifer some consider her the founder of the breed. We do live here in Cove, since 93 both our girls are grads CCHS my oldest now a teacher in KISD youngest still in college. Doreen is the Director at the Armed Services YMCA here in Cove.(My bet is if you don't her, you know someone who does.)We offer more than just burgers although a fresh hand made 7oz Angus burger with all the toppings choice of cheese fries, and a 24 oz drink for $4.62 we feel is a great deal. We have a great Philly Cheese Steak fresh off the grill,( and if your from Philly yeah you can get Cheez whiz on it.) also a REAL hot pastrami, Tuna, Turkey, Ham, or Italian sub.
Blue BUNNY ice cream shakes (hand made) seasoned fries, O rings, Buffalo style tenders. I agree we do have a lot of burger options here in Cove, we just thought we could offer a better one. Hope you stop by and give it a try. P.S our drive thru will be open by the week end.
