This case was a mess from the minute the Alaska State Troopers were contacted in Glennallen. The Supervisor at that time had lost his basic interest in police work and was near retirement. His sail boat and rescue dog were much more important than police work.
The crime scene was never protected, and the case was VERY poorly investigated. The Troopers were at fault for letting Sawyer go free for nine years and letting his son grow up thinking that he killed his mother. This case is a true example of what the Alaska Stste Troopers are. They should patrol the roadways of Alaska, investigate accidents, issue tickets and leave the police work to REAL Police. This was a shame and it was all do to very poor police work. |

Sometimes there are ignorant people who just assume what goes on in real life. Dan State Troopers are the only "police" for the area about the size of the state of North Carolina. So as far as just driving around and giving tickets maybe you should apply and help out.
