how about I just set my cash on fire and charge admission to that. Fireworks - what a stupid waste of time and money

It'll never work because the gubament entitlement crowd in allentown only takes and never gives.

Charge admission and if there are no takers then cancel the show. Simple as that. There are more worthy destinations for people's spare cash than a fireworks display.

Well I hope they don't knock on my door. I have better things to do with my time then watch fireworks. And I know that someone is going to say that I am unpatriotic - but I don't understand what fireworks have to do with being patriotic. If you've seen one firework display you've seen them all.

<quoted text>Maybe you could consider the children who look forward to this event each year. Fireworks symbolize the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, you know, from the National Anthem. Pride in this country and the sacrafices made by those who helped to ensure our way of life. Im sure the men and woman in Iraq would give an arm and a leg to see some fireworks, oh yea, they are.
Okay I'll give you that. I wasn't thinking of it in a child's or soldier's point of view. I guess I should have thought about the whold picture before typing - thanks.

Oh no not at all. I just wasn't thinking of the whole picture and you had some good points. I know I might appear stubborn at times on these forums, but if someone else has good points then so be it.

maybe the allentown police association should seek advice from mayor pawloski. He"s done such a remarkable job balancing funding lights in the parkway.
The real problem is the 4th of july fireworks have forever fallen short of covering the annual costs. every year they are pleading for recovery monies.
It"s long overdue charge a gate addmission, and then give out 3000 free admissions to the low lifes in allentown. who beleive everything is free.
