Only if one assumes that global temperature changes are caused by human activity instead of the level of solar activity.

The larger point is that the recent temperature changes are negligible compared to changes over the history of the earth.

Is that glacier still covering Homer's house, or did power plants melt it?

'Glen Greenwald's all over the issue of press freedoms and the current Administration:

"The New York Times Editorial page today says the Obama administration is "threatening fundamental freedoms of the press to gather news" ( http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/22/opinion/ano... ).

James Goodale, the New York Times' general counsel during the paper's fights with the Nixon administration, writes in the NYT today that "President Obama will surely pass President Richard Nixon as the worst president ever on issues of ... press freedom" and that "President Obama wants to criminalize the reporting of national security information" ( http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2013/05/... ).' I'm wondering where Glenn Greenwald and James Rosen are really trying to go with this? Like the IRS case that involved only two overly ambitious employees trying to be more efficient in processing 501(c)(4) status requests, the AP and Fox reporter case were isolated incidents of a FBI agent legally attaining a search warrant from a liberal U S Magistrate Judge Alan Kay(He is notable because he has heard several habeas corpus petitions submitted on behalf of captives held in extrajudicial detention in the United States's Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba.[2][3][4][5][6] Kay was the judge authorized to rule on issues arising from the "protective order" that set out the procedures the captives' attorneys had to follow. www.wikipedia.org (See Alan Kay's ruling on Salim Muhood Adem v. George W. Bush) If Greenwald and Rosen are attacking the Obama Administration in hopes that it raises awareness that the Patriot and Espionage Acts need serious reform because it grants the President too broad, over-reaching powers without Congressional oversight to protect highly sensitive ,national security secrets then I'm all for calling on the Congress to hold hearings on amending or repeal of the Patriot and Espionage Acts. However, neither Greenwald or Rosen ever mention Congress ' responsibility for protecting our Constitutional privacy rights and vigilance on national security . "the affidavit says that the FBI had exhausted all alternatives to a search warrant for collecting the desired evidence, except for asking Mr. Rosen to voluntarily produce his own email.

ďBecause of the Reporterís own potential criminal liability in this matter, we believe that requesting the voluntary production of the materials from Reporter would be futile and would pose a substantial threat to the integrity of the investigation and of the evidence we seek to obtain by the warrant.Ē

The warrant application was approved and signed by U.S. Magistrate Judge Alan Kay on May 28, 2010. It was sealed until November 7, 2011 but went unnoticed until the Washington Post reported on it late yesterday. " Check this out: http://blogs.fas.org/secrecy/ I'm wondering why this went 'unnoticed' by the national press until now?

Red-faced Republicans, circling and preparing to pounce on a second-term Democratic president they loathe, do not respect, and certainly do not fear. Sound familiar? Perhaps reminiscent of Bill Clintonís second term, after the Monica Lewinsky story broke? During that time, Republicans became so consumed by their hatred of Clinton and their conviction that this event would bring him down that they convinced themselves the rest of the country was just as outraged by his behavior as they were. By the way, what was Clintonís lowest Gallup job-approval rating in his second term, throughout the travails of investigations and impeachment? It was 53 percent. The conservative echo machine had worked itself into such a frenzy, the GOP didnít realize that the outrage was largely confined to the ranks of those who never voted for Clinton anyway.
These days, the country is even more polarized, and the conservative echo chamber is louder than ever before. Many conservatives made it all the way to Election Day last November unaware that their White House nominee was falling short. How could Mitt Romney possibly lose when everyone they knew was voting for him? Except that he did lose, and it wasnít even a very close race. Five other post-World War II presidential elections had closer outcomes.
The simple fact is that although the Republican sharks are circling, at least so far, there isnít a trace of blood in the water. A new CNN/ORC survey of 923 Americans this past Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, pegged Obamaís job-approval rating at 53 percent, up a statistically insignificant 2 points since their last poll, April 5-7, which was taken before the Benghazi, IRS, and AP-wiretap stories came to dominate the news and congressional hearing rooms. His disapproval rating was down 2 points since that last survey.
In Gallupís tracking poll, Obamaís average job-approval rating so far this year is 50 percent. For this past week, May 13-19, his average was 49 percent, the same as the week before. The most recent three-day moving average, through Sunday, May 19, was also 49 percent. Over the past two weeks, even as these three stories/scandals have dominated the news, they have had precisely zero effect on the presidentís job-approval numbers. His ratings are still bouncing around in the same narrow range they have been for weeks.

FOX is no more effective then it was before the election. but when there's only 3 million people watching the right wing propaganda machine what can you expect.
Yup. You do read too much of your own propaganda.
The story that broke about Bill Clinton was him using the office of president to obstruct justice in a civil case in Arkansas, you ignorant dupe.

Has it dawned on you yet that your second favorite president was a serial rapist, and your favorite president is a Marxist communist who allied himself with the Islamist terrorists merely because they were the enemy of the United States?

Yup. You should be prevented from owning a firearm. You are obviously mentally unstable and delusional.

Since the 1980's when Reagan deregulated everything. It's no coincidence that obesity has been on the rise since then. Take a look at any video footage from prior to the 1980's nothing but skinny people.

Oh, no. I have to explain to another bufoon how government works.
Ok, listen up. Take notes if you need to.
Changes in design, such as armor for Humvees, must go through a procurement process.
First, all procurements must be in response to a threat to be approved.(Secretary of Defense)
Then, money must be appropriated for it.(Congress)
Then, it must go through source selection.(Secretary of Defense)
Then it must go through concept exploration.(NAVAIR/NAVSEA/etc .)
Then it must go through design/development.(NAVAIR/NAV SEA/etc.)
Then it must be deployed.(Pentagon)
These types of changes are usually accomodated in a FIVE YEAR DEFENSE PLAN, you fucking idiot.
CONGRESS AND PRESIDENT
Now, follow the arithmetic... naught plus naught is naught....
In Clinton's Five Yar Defense Plan, there was no thought of increasing the armor for the Humvees. The Five Year Defense Plan had to be amended to accomodate this and accelerate the process.... you fucking idiot.
Read this twice, idiot.
And, please refrain from participating in a discussion of topics you don't know a goddam thing about.
Look dipstick.

If the military doesn't ask for it, its not the fault of Congress or the President if they don't get it.

Show me where the military requested it in their plan and it was denied.

Sterile Seeds: Why Worry? "These technologies are extremely dangerous," explains RAFI's Mooney, "because over 1.4 billion farmers - primarily poor farmers in Africa, Asia and Latin America - depend on farm-saved seed as their primary seed source. If they can't save seed, they can't continue to adapt crops to their unique farming environments, and that spells disaster for global food security."
