I know someone that literally lives a block away from the Coplay Fire Department and an accidental fire broke out in his garage and by the time Coplay Fire Dept got there, ran around like a bunch of un-trained amateurs, his garage burned entirely down. Let Whitehall take over Coplay's area for fire service.

It's about time that someone questioned Coplays Borugh President, She has her own agenda that should be overlooked by Borough Residents.

It's a Whitehall thing. Perpetual fighting over fire companies, playground and ambulance corps funds.

Wheeeee!

If they cared about their residents, they would begin phasing in paid professionals.

Firefighting is too serious to leave to amateurs...

What about when the coplay northampton bridge closes for replacement??? I would think that driving up to cementon and back down to coplay would add quite a bit on to the response time of northampton. Good luck to the residents of coplay if they let this happen.GET A GOOD GARDEN HOSE AND FIRE EXTINGUISHER.

Thanks for the laugh this AM. I grew up in Coplay. As long as the Log Cabin still stands, they can do what they want with the Fire Department.

Bid this job out to private industry and take it out of the hands of the squabblers. We have been well-served by Haliburton and other service providers in Iraq and it is time for the public to get out of the public-service business.

Amen on keeping the Cabin! I really hope that it and "Coplay" (ala the new Giant) stay. What landmarks. About the firefighting, squabbles like this have gone on for years and are normal in Coplay and elsewhere. It will work itself out.

Megg,

The Log Cabin is a dive. You can count the teeth in the whole place on you fingers and toes! The owner looks like 10 mi. of bad road and the bar tending heffers have a serious personality (as if) disorder!
You like it, good! The food? is carp too!

Oh come on now, what you say is true...however, I have too many fond memories of the place to not keep it close to my heart.
Plus, you don't even have to fix yourself up, and guaranteed, you will be the most attractive people in there. THere's something to be said for that.
As for the food, those are homemade pierogies! No Mrs. T's for the Cabin of Logs....may it outlive me and my children and grandchildren to come!

It might be a dive(no one drinks mojitos, no lace doily for your drink),but everyone(no matter how many teeth they have)is polite,no fights every ten minutes.I don't care what the servers look like they treat you with respect.
(no matter how many teeth you have)The "beautiful people" might like paying $7.00 for a beer, served by snooty attactive women, but I'll take the log cabin & their food any day.

By the way I attended a coplay fire co breakfest once. The food was cold & tasted terrible. The servers were indifferent and(if you're into judging people by their looks) they were elephants.

Hey Jerk......if you knew anything about this fire, the garage was completely engulfed BEFORE the fire department was even called! And yes, the people who arrived on the first truck may have looked like they were un trained, and thankfully some of THOSE personnel are no longer with the fire department FOR THAT REASON!! So, please don't BASH the fire department because you don't know everything involved. It's people like you that give ALL FIRE DPARTMENTS a bad Name

The owner might look as you say but he'd give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.
If you went to the Cabin looking for "good" food you missed the entire experience of the place!

Yeah.....OK lets phase in paid fire protection for 100 calls a year. The boro obviously past the point of no return on this one, CARE is something that should have occured many years ago.
