Good Job on catching the thief, but you should have broke his hands and arms before the cops came, this would remind him of what he did while sitting in jail!!!

Well this is good to hear! It's about time some of the people in Allentown started helping out law enforcement. Now if more people started doing this Allentown could become a much better city than it is now.

this is how the city should be,maybe some positive changes would come if more people pitched in to help in that change.obviously being careful not to get inthe way of ssomeone with a gun,but the people in the community caring about the community, great job!!!

Too bad about the other two. It is good to see the $250,000 bail on Simeon. And his home address.

There would be no danger if the criminal justice system was changed.

Criminals caught in the act like this should be tried and executed by hanging as an example for anyone else wanting to steal a car.

There is no need for jail time to allow the criminal the ability to socialize with other "higher-level" thugs and learn how to re-fine their criminal ways which will not change.

After few executions every month, the crime rate will really go down in Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton.

Now watch all of the bleeding heart liberals complain of this post and offer nothing more than, "He was a good kid."

And if you really wanted to see the crime rate go down, start sending all of the convicted violent criminals in the downtown jail to New Orleans on a work detail to help rebuild the city in chain gangs with ankle irons.

It's a great thing to be a hero, and my hat goes off to Mr. Seammer and his stepson Robert, but I see trouble lying ahead for this family.

Thugs always find ways to retaliate. This hero thing is great now, but I'm afaid this is the beginning of Mr. Seammer's nitemare. I would not had my picture plastered in the Morning Call as a hero...you know what that means...be prepared!! Lock your doors and get a gun, because I think you are going to need it.

Good luck and great job catching this man, but now I think your good deed will be forever change your life and not for the best.. Good luck and I hope you have a burglar alarm system!

It's nice to see residents getting invovled. But, it's a shame some people try to take credit for something they didn't do. The reason I know this is I was one of the 2 people that detained this criminal until police arrived. Mr. Saemmer was definitly not one people that that helped hold this person. As far as the grandson I couldn't be positive but I thought it was more of a middle aged person in a black T-shirt that chased this guy up the street and helped me hold him until 2 police officers arrived and wrestled him to the ground and cuffed him. So, Mr. Saemmer you should come foward and tell the truth about your non-involvment.

You mean this guy is taking credit for something he didn't do? Well then when it's retaliation time the wrong guy is going to get hurt. Oh my!

You are correct. I don't plan on taking credit for this but I hate when people take credit for something they had nothing to do with.

I live onthe same street where this crash happened and from what the police said to my mother and I(she saw the whole thing happen) there were 4 people and 2 were caught a man and a woman. I am glad to see that people on this street get involved to get this low lifer, and feel bad for the 2 people who's vehicles were damaged int his crash. This Simeon jerk should not be aloud to have any type of hearing what should of been done was to shoot his with the 2 guns that were stolen, case closed. Now we as residents if we care about our streets we need to take back the neighborhood and get these thugs and losers out of Allentown.

After reading comment #18 and not knowing by the article a woman was also caught, and if Mr. Saemmer and his grandson were involved in her capture then I must apologize for my earlier comments and say GREAT JOB GUYS. I guess the reporter was in error about how she stated the facts.
