There has to be more done to protect innocent people on the road from these drunk drivers, I feel the justice system is set up to keep making money off these DWI offenders, 90% of people that get a DWI go out and do it againe, I heard of one man that has 7 DWIs and still got his license back, its insane. An old Cop friend once told me that DWIs are big money for the legal system, lawyers, judges etc, etc..., that all fine and good but shouldnt the laws that be become more harsh on drunk drivers?, is the system worried that they will lose money on second and third offenders?, money does not replace human life. I feel anyone who is selfish and dumb enough to get into a car(even after one drink), should not be allowed to drive ever agine, EVER. Please dont use the excuse they didnt know how drunk they were, every body knows darn well when they are drunk, there is no excuse. The law makers need to put fear in these drunk drivers,(as most of the people that drive drunk are so selfish the thought of thier lives being ruined (and not thier innocent victims) might put a stop to them getting behind the wheel). First time offenders should get a manditory 2 years in jail and lose thier license for good. Im sure the lawyers and judges and all tha other people that make money off DWIs dont feel the same, but Ill bet the people whom have lost loved ones to drunks on the road do. Our Legal system needs to start protecting the innocent and stop making money off 2nd and 3rd offenders and the blood of the innocent.
