Despite everything the white man threw at him, decade after decade, Mr. Grimes is self sufficient; and beyond that, has always been generous and gracious to a community that often showed him the back of its hand.

Voni is all that and a bag of chips and I love the guy. But we must keep in mind that there are countless others. The only difference here is that he is a pal of the YDR. You should read the book my uncle Bubba wrote to my family.

Lovely, another typical bash whitey book. Wonder if he ever recalled when a evil white guy cut him a break, by giving him a job, or promotion in the Army ?? Lets seem him write a book about Zimbabwe and the recent elections there..where the president of Zimbabwe runs on an anti-white platform. And unlike yourself, who hides in anonimity behind some smart-assed handle, Mr. Grimes has put himself out there time and time again to do good things for for many. I bet the YDR had no idea that printing a book about a 85 year old church going christian man, who spent his entire life helping others and served as an ideal role model would generate the same kind of hatred from its readers as any other black man in the area. Sometimes I think the YDR thinks that their readers give a hoot about anything that is black. This is not some large metropolitian area, this is dutch country and as our Gov. said, there is Philly on one side Pittsburg on the other and Alabama in the middle. York is Alabama

The hatred written here is only of a few. Those few matter not when it comes to the big picture and what a respectable, giving, educated, good man Mr. Grimes was and is. Who cares what those few have to say. They don't speak for the majority who appreciate his writings by being enriched by his memoirs and experiences. So ignore the few. Do not respond. They just want attention and you are giving them an audience by responding. Please don't waste this space. Leave it for the positive comments.
