I read in the paper that "Pacherille Jr.s family always has believed that the teen is mentally ill and needs psychiatric treatment, not prison time."
Maybe they should have sought out the psychiatric treatment BEFORE the kid tried to murder someone. This kids father should get jail time for his actions also. I'd slpa him with a copyright infingement suit for any violations of his use of the HOF Logo too. Pacherille Sr should focus all his energy not on harassing the victim, or his friends but on begging the Department of Corrections to grant his kid protective status. I would think that once his courtroom quote of " I shot him because he is black" makes its rounds at the prison his son is goingto need to be placed in as much protective custody as the state can muster.

Anthony Pacherille Sr. claimed that his son was not treated right by the justice system. He claimed his son was mentally as quote from http://www.pacherille.com/ .
"On April 29th, 2011, Anthony Pacherille, a 17 year old mentally ill boy, was forced to plead guilty to attempted murder."
There is no doubt in my mind that he is as the family claimed. Mental Illness runs in families and it looks like his father may have his own issues. Could we see more problems? In my opinion this person Anthony Sr should be admitted the nearest mental hospital. He should under go electric shock therapy and be given anti psychotic medicine. Then and only after the Dr says he can go home (under strict supervision) should he be allowed to do so. I would also request that Mrs. Pacherille and any other sibling be screened and treated for any mental illness.

I think, after reading the pacherille website that it sounds that the family doesn't want any punishment for their son. Jail is not an option, because he is mentally ill, yet a mental hospital is no good because he may spend the rest of his life in an institution. It seems that the only solution according to the family is to sentence him as a juvenile.......the state keeps him till he's 21...and then he goes free.....with no criminal record.
Here's my opinion......he was charged as an adult, plead guilty as an adult, the judge I am sure asked him if he understood what it was he was pleading to. His Miranda Warning is probably on tape. Bet the police have a nice long written statement as to what happened that day...signed by the defendant. If any of those statements are untrue then the family should let the public know now. I however think this is a case of a racist rotten egg who wanted to commit suicide, and decided to take someone else with him. Now it is time for the punishment and daddy doesn't want his kid behind bars.
