I am moving my family here due to a job transfer in the very near future and may be enrolling our children in middle school and high school. I say "may be" because after what we're hearing, my wife wants us to seriously consider private school for the boys.
I've heard a lot of positive things about the principal in the elementary school, but I've only heard VERY negative things about the middle/high school principal.
I've heard there are several pending lawsuits and I was shocked to learn what they're about! Also, " Greatschools.com " doesn't mention many positives, and quite a few negatives.
I know just over a dozen or so people in this community, but not one person could say anything positive about this guy.
What's his story?

Can't say anything good or bad about the guy. I hear he's a jerk, but remember, people only tend to talk about the negative stuff and let the positibe stuff go unmentioned. General consensus among people I know is that he has a tendency to favor kids in athletics than those who aren't, and that he's rude to parents.
Most importantly though, it's the TEACHERS who make the most difference in a kid's education, NOT the administration.
And by most accounts, the teachers are good here (in my experience).

My wife and I moved OUT of the district a few years ago, but we still have family in the area and visit frequently. I've heard of many children that are homeschooled there or that go to private school. The majority of kids do go to the public schools though.
The community is a very nice one, and the only pitfall is the school system, and of course the taxes and strict building codes.
I've found the principal to be highly unskilled and unprofessional as an administrator. He had very unrefined "people skills," and word had it that he only got the job because he was the only one there in the district who had the required certificate for the position. It wasn't as if they picked this guy out of a pool of qualified candidates. He had a low tolerance for children who were "different," and did show favoritism, as someone else mentioned on this board, toward students who were into sports.
It is what it is, but If I had a choice, which luckily I did, I wouldn't send my kids there.
There are a few private schools in outside areas, and I'd recommend sending your kid there. If your kid is in grades K-6, then you luck out because the elementary school has a fantastic principal there.
