update:OCTOBER 11, 2013 REAL ESTATE NEWS
CONGRESS SHUT DOWN NOW AFFECTING REAL ESTATE BUSINESSES, HERE IN QUEENS,NEW YORK.
Imagine agents and brokers this year were in a frenzy of plenty of new houses for sale, and new sold houses. When Congress closed down, the agents at many top Real Estates in Queens, have been talking to themselves. One agent asking another from other Realtors, the same question, HOW IS BUSINESS? DO YOU FIND IN SUDDENLY DEAD? Yes, all those homes for sale, and all of a sudden it came to a complete halt.
Buyers are concerned now. As one agent from a local Realtors office said, what good is it having 2 dozens signs out there 'for sale' when nobody is calling?
A TIME TO REFLECT.....Good Realtors should visit the Homeowners now before they start calling the office wondering what happened to appointments to show the house.
Those that are overpriced should be reduced, and a new strategy should be in place for the upcoming weeks before the Holidays begin.
When it comes to selling homes, you can be a small office, medium size office or a large franchise office, unexpected events can hurt anyone.
*Helpful Hints to Sellers.... Set the asking price at the right level.....When contracting a Realtor think of you hiring a contractor to do your kitchen. Check the time frame involved in selling your home. If priced right it should not take more than 8 weeks to sell.
Signing up for 6 months to sell your home is quite antiquated these days.
Treat meeting an agent like a job interview. If they are a Franchise check the listing of people who work there.
Hope Congress re-opens soon for everyones benefit. Please!
