Again our wonderful council of Macungie hard at work for timmi r.When are the residents of this town gonna wake up and go after the real problem in this town?timmi r does not even live in our town! But he sure seems to have a lot of pull here!the keystone cops, four members of our council, the puppy we so desperately needed for the massive amounts of drug traffic we have in this town. Now timmi wants to get rid of our town manager along with the mayor!I guess next election we should just all vote for timmi and everything will be alright.LOL!!!!!!!!!! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!And shut this clown up!!!!!!!!

You have an police officer that allegedly beat the snot out of a handcuffed man too.. He has also indicated that he would perform what appears to be an illegal arrest on another forum..

Why he wasnt prosecuted is beyond me. Why anyone would hire him as an officer is crazy.. You guys need to take back your town.

Pennsylvania Man Receives $70,000 In Police Brutality Suit

MATT BIRKBECK
Morning Call (Allentown, Pennsylvania)

A Whitehall Township man received $70,000 after filing a federal lawsuit against Catasauqua and a borough police officer, claiming he was beaten during a routine traffic stop.

The officer, Corey Fluck, was fired soon after the March 2004 incident.

Kevin R. Kromer was paid last month by the borough's insurance company after filing his suit in March.

"This is not what we have a right to expect from the people that are supposed to be protecting us," said Jordan Yeager, Kromer's Doylestown attorney.

Catasauqua Police Chief Douglas Kish said Fluck was not charged in the incident, but was removed by Borough Council from the eligible to work list. "We took immediate action," he said.

Fluck continues to work as a part-time police officer in Fountain Hill. He was working for both departments when he was let go by Catasauqua, where he'd worked since 1999.

Fountain Hill Mayor Stephen Repasch said he was unaware that Fluck had been fired by Catasauqua. "I'm shocked," he said. "He's never had an incident like that here."

Repasch said he would contact Fountain Hill solicitor Donald H. Lipson and perhaps review the matter.

Fluck could not be reached for comment.

Kish said he did not refer the alleged assault to the Lehigh County district attorney or to any other local, state or federal agencies, and referred further questions to borough solicitor Jeffrey Dimmich.

"It's a decision of the local government," Dimmich said. "Fluck was part time and had no civil service status, so we could remove him. From the borough's standpoint, we took the necessary actions."

Dimmich said the actual cost of the settlement to the borough was a $5,000 deductible.

According to the complaint, filed March 2 with the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia, Kromer was a passenger sitting in the back seat of a car that was pulled over by Fluck on March 24, 2004.

After questioning two people sitting in the front, Fluck ordered Kromer out of the car, and subsequently handcuffed him. When Kromer asked what he had done, Fluck allegedly kicked Kromer's legs out, grabbed him by the neck and drove his head onto the trunk of the police cruiser, according to the complaint.

dynamic jim there are a lot more then two people wasting time and money in macungie and happytohelp maybee the officer wasnt prosecuted because there were no facts or evedence to back up the accusations the award would have been a lot higher if there were. a lot of times towns just pay to save time. happy macungie resedent do you really think we were better of with past councils have you never heard dave saylor stand at the podium and just rant and yell like a spoiled child and make baseless accusaitions much li ke hutchenson does then there is linn walker who well lets just say clueless and leave it at that.this council is more open and gets more public involvment then the old councils ever did and there is our bull in the china shop i want to be a dictator mayor. our present council won the last election in a land slide then in next election voters stayed home and we got stuck with our mayor now i hear some old council members are running again i hope some other resedents step up or that present members run for re-election. i would hate to see our town take two steps backward after the giant step forward that we took.

ah happy macungie resident you do not sound to happy to me.maybee you should consider a name change how about sour puss.as far as steps forward how about getting residents more involved in goverment or being open about what they are doing.or moving the meetings to the institute. or expecting all employees to do a good job or making public safety a top priority or backing our highly trained police force. it does not sound like you have much respect for the law maybee your a law breaker? if you do not think there is a drug problem you should read a news paper or talk to some residents or crawl out from under your rock. our police dog has been involved in many arrests.any time a scum bag is taken off the streets it is a good thing unless you happen to be one of those scum bags.as far as legal bills they were not there during councils first two years they started only after our mayor took office.our mayor recently decided not to drop his law suit and to keep wasting tax payer money. public saftey should always be top priority regardless if a town is one square mile or one hundred square miles. and as far as our manager goes if she withheld information and abused her power thats something council should definetly look into.
