Two reasons
1. The law is so complicated and convoluted that the incompetents in the administration can't get it done.
2. They want to implement the unpopular program after the 2014 elections, to avoid getting their butts kicked any worse.

Your reason #2 stands out in my mind. The first thing I thought. Almost guarantee you won't see this thing come down until that Bastard is gone. Why don't they just arrest him? I've have never witnessed anything like this. Our country has been through much, but this man is absolutely being permitted to destroy us and walk away.

#2 is not about Obama, but the mid-term Congressional elections. Different people; same issue.

The same reason Benghazi was sidelined until after the election last year.

BTW, it is about Obama. It's all about Obama. If not for Obama? This wouldn't be on the table. He has turned what was corrupt into something totally unthinkable. And we sit back and watch .

It's a disappointing setback, but then again Obamacare was never perfect to begin with. Although the main feature - the individual mandate is still intact. But confusion could still exist.

I still maintain the best healthcare system is a single-payer system. Eliminate the current patchwork of insurance plan and their various hospital networks. Nationalize hospitals and have the insurance industry administer the national healthcare system.

To add to number 2, they want to avoid the blowback from the layoffs that will surely precede implementation of the mandate on small businesses - not to mention revealing the lies that were told about how much the program will cost.

But there's also a number 3, Duke. By leaving the individual mandate on the table without forcing small businesses to provide healthcare, many people will be forced into the government insurance - the plan behind Obamacare all along. As it is, several private insurors have already dropped coverage in California and some other states.

Funny, the insurance companies went along with obamacare even though it was obvious it would be the end of their healthcare business.

Hi iQ!
how true! Its all smoke and mirrors. Just a push towards "dbar care"..tee hee, I mean obamarama single payer.
Duke, the insurance companies aren't going to be losing out on anything.
They will be paid mucho to oversee the single payer program.
Also this slick maneuver of theirs makes businesses look as if theyre behind this, which was always an goal of obamarama-make the American businesses the "evil entity".

I didn't always agree with her, but she has a way of looking at things differently and she sure kept it interesting. Nothing wrong with folksy IMO. Sometimes it's just another word for common sense.
