Anybody know of a quality professional place in/near Q-town that does car window tinting at a reasonable price? For whatever reason Hyundai doesn't even put an upper windshield band of tinting on their cars, let alone tinted glass. My car has a black interior and this heat is making it unbearable even with the ac full blast. I knew it would be an issue when I bought the car a few years ago, but the dealer wanted over $500 to do it.

I have to assume your AC unit is under powered. I have a black leather interior in my wife's car with no tint. However, the AC unit is more then enough to cool the entire car. That's why I wont buy a Hyundai or Kia, the hidden ways the manufacturers cut costs.

As for tint, try a speed shop. Most car enthusiast know how to tint windows. I knew how when I was 17, but have no time these days.

Hey Lehigh Valley D1ck... the entire first paragraph of your response was completely unwarranted. The guy simply asked for a referral to a local tint shop. Your personal opinion of the brand vehicle he drives coupled with the assumption that the factory "AC unit" in said vehicle is "under powered" really displays your ignorance. Being a self-proclaimed "car enthusiast" I am sure you know there are many components which make up a vehicles air conditioning system....and certainly you are aware that there isn't any one "unit" to which we can blame for a vehicle with black interior being uncomfortable when the summer sun is blaring though untinted glass. Regardless of the brand vehicle, the sun will scorch you though any untreated window glass. Black interior, again regardless of the manufacturer, will absorb the heat and make the interior temperature difficult to regulate. It's radiant heat energy, you fool. The cold air coming out of the vents will have little impact on the interior surface temp.

You obviously have no helpful input to offer with regard to the original query. However, it was quite entertaining to see how shallow you truly are. You couldn't resist stroking yourself by announcing that you knew how to tint windows at 17 and have no time to do so these days. WOW, you really impressed me! That is quite an accomplishment! Thanks for sharing, now go jack awff all over your non-Hyundai branded vehicle... You've earned it, Mr. Successful.

Please keep your ignorant comments to yourself. You're obviously a snob and must be trying to compensate for being a little man.

You would assume wrong. The ac blasts plenty of icy cold air, and it cools it eventually even when it's pushing 100, but the problem is the direct sunlight. It's a large car with 8 windows letting sunlight heat the black interior to temps that burn skin. It's like a greenhouse on steroids. 30 mins into a drive the air temp can be freezing but touching the dash or door sides can still be way too hot to touch. The car itself has been the best car I've ever purchased, zero problems. Putting aside the insult, your comment didn't really offer help. I know what the types of places and people are that do tinting, I'm asking for recommendations of places that do quality work at reasonable prices. Thanks to the others who actually responded appropriately.

Check out Dent Tech auto spa on Lehigh Street in Emmaus. They are just past the South mall, across from Lehigh Valley Honda. they do tinting, stripes, dent and interior repairs and more. My son had his windows tinted there and they did an excellent job, and give a guarantee.

Just want to add to make sure you do not exceed the degree of legal tint in PA. Last thing you need is some Bored Cop giving you a problem.

Well, according to this site, as long as you stay away from 7-eleven or Wawa, you won't have to worry about cops.
