The Q-town school board is looking to outsource the food service, custodians and some teaching positions. This includes every school in the district. 111 food service workers and 233 support staff.

Did you know:
1) The food service department is independently run and on it's own budget?!
2) Most of the union workers, cusstodians, food service workers live in the boro and district? 80% lives in the boro
3) The staff are first aid responders, respond to call when off duty for maintenance, building emergencies etc.
http://youtu.be/lKbB48rQF98

Look at the video and see how rude they are to the very people who pay their salaries?! They don't care!

4 are up for re-election on the school board! I bet threatening to vote them out will change their minds!

This is completely terrible for anyone who supports the very people who take care of your children!

Thats right, Andrejko and the school council want to outsource everything. So many things wrong with this. Guess nothing is wrong with Andrejko's salary of $174,272

Please everyone, do what you can to help, call your school district, write letters, call your community leaders and rally behind a good cause!

I'm sure you're the first to complain of ever increasing school taxes.

You can't have your cake and eat it, you know.

Not too concerned. If it is less expensive then outsource it.

Feel bad go the people who may lose their jobs maybe the outsource company can offer them their job back working for them. That would be a win all around

This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who's attended board meetings over the past few years.

If there are no stakeholders in the community then there is no accountability to the community. These folks are part of the community. This is ignoring the root cause of expensive public education... The root cause is ?< fill in the blank>

I was at this school board meeting. There was nothing rude done. A speaker was asked how much longer she was going to be. She wasn't asked to stop, she sat down on her own.

For less pay, no pension and no or crappy benefits. Your reward for years of hard work and dedication. The American Way.

Stop ALL breeding. That will end the entire problem. Less kids. Less expense. Less tax. NO MORE BREEDING. FEDERAL LAW.

Do they have the same insane benefits the teachers and government workers do?

Why is it that teachers, who go to college for 4 years, can retire when they're 55 and doctors, who go to school for 8-10 years can never retire? What's wrong with that picture? So for all those parents who go around bragging "my son/daughter is going to be a doctor", tell them to think ahead and take the easy way out and become a teacher. In the long run you'll be better off. A good pension and paid health care forever!

I respect the job teachers do but think teachers should have to pay something into their health insurance and also get pay raises based off merit not guaranteed.

I thought closing a small elementary school was the answer to all the money problems. Guess not.

It's terrible that qcsd believes outsourcing will save money. What is the real reason? We'll find out sooner or later...

If qcsd is so focused on saving money why don't we look at the meaningless bureaucratic positions that have been created. How many assistants does an HR "nancy" really need. If fiscally responsible; should jobs be created to make someone's inflated salary job that much easier?!

How about we look into the high schools addition/renovation plans. Do you know that the high school recently had its roof replaced? Do you know how much that was? Do you know it's still under warranty? Did you know when the renovations take place the qcsd will be wasting close to if not more than 1 mill because they want a different style. When in reality it's a "waste of money" as stated by an independent architect. Where as the exsist inch roof need not be touched....

In a true democratic fashion I hope the QCSD gets gutted starting with the top. Yea lets save money by eliminating the bottom first. WTF is wrong with this picture

And You have made the first cliche statement regarding this topic. Yet another moot statement by a self-concerning citizen.
