In other business, the board agreed to move forward with a plan to install a traffic light at Route 663 and Commerce Drive, near the Milford Pointe development.

Also, officials recently purchased generators, which will provide power to the township building, firehouse and senior center in the event of outage. Generators were also purchased for major traffic lights.

The township building lost power during Hurricane Sandy and had no backup source. With the purchase of the generators, Milford’s municipal building now has been established as an emergency operations center.
