This topic has been going on for almost 4 years and the most common complaint has been the odor. Well, I don't care for it either but almost every home I'v been in smells almost the same way to someone who doesn't have a dog, especially a big one. I'll bet some of yours smell a little also.
She's a great vet and we have used he many times and are perfectly satisfied! You don't like the smell but I'll bet you like the prices!
You're right this thread has gone on for a long time & it's not just because of the stink. In all my days that is the only place I've ever smelled like that. But the lousy care tops the list of complaints. You wanna save a buck then go ahead take a chance. But thanks to this thread you have been forewarned.

I had been seeing Kathy Jamison for years with my dog Hailey. She was diagnosed with mammary cancer. Kathy did surgery and Hailey recovered wonderfully. About a year later she developed another lump. I took her immediately to Kathy. She said lets just watch it, it will probably shrink. So we watched it. It grew to a large apple size and she still let it go. Hailey started having seizures. Kathy diagnosed her with lyme disease and put her on doxycycline. to make a long story short. she continued with seizures.I made an appt. to have her put down. when I took her for appt. I wanted to talk to Kathy first and make sure we were doing the right thing. Up to this point Kathy had not talked to me once. Not even when I picked her up after being hospitalized for 3 days. Kathy refused to talk to me. Not only that, she ripped me apart in front of another patient who was in the exam room, and the patients who were in the waiting room. said I was wasting her time. Needless to say I never went back there again. I took my precious Haiey to rockhill vet and she was diagnosed with a metastatic cancer, that was causing hypoglycemia, which was causing the seizures. Hailey had to be put down. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS THERE. Also her staff except for one young girl, is horrible. very rude non caring. I hope she is shut down and soon before she kills someone elses beloved pet.

we have a life. Our life is just sadder now because we lost precious pets because of this woman. You've obviously been lucky so far. I used to defend her too until I lost my precious Hailey because of her. I wish your pet continued health in her care.

Dr. J has saved my cat from a very bad infection which he could have died from. if you really have a problem w/ the staff and the smell go somewhere else and stop bitching... go get a life and get off the computer! Dr. J and her staff have always been nice to me and my animals, they like her and have never come home sick from there. everyone is entitled to a bad day, trust me i have!!
You have been lucky so far. Lets see you defend her after she does something to hurt your beloved animal. we post our "negative comments" to try to help other people to protect their animals. My precious Hailey is in a box in my curio cabinet because of her.

I shared my story on this forum and if you truly want to get her shut down, I would gladly try to help.

Personally my best vet experience so far has been Rockhill vet. Very clean good drs and very nice staff. Have not had a problem yet I guess reasonable price but really what price do you put on your pets????? Good luck to anyone who chooses to take your pets to her because you just never know if you will get them back.
I just started with rockhill vet after a bad experience with Kathy Jamison. I see Dr.Lin. I love that place and My puppy Lexi is happy going there.

We went there a few times, but the smell really turned me off. No other vets office in the area smells like this place! None of them!

Luckily, we didn't experience any of the horror stories others have stated.

You get what you pay for. She's the Kermit Gosnell version of vets in Quakertown.

We now go to Qtown Vet on Old Bethlehem Pike. Yes, they are more expensive, but the place is clean and their vets and techs are very nice and take the time to talk to you.

No smell in the waiting room. No smell in the exam rooms. No smell...period.

that place may be clean but stories abound of their willness to do anything to make a buck. they ain't cheap for a reason. many a local have gone elsewhere for very good reasons & not just financial.

I've just read every post on here..alot of you people are nuts and are liars as well...There IS an xray machine, there IS a blood machine, the place is cleaned every day 365 days a year, and she doesn't just do masking anesthesia. She does tubate if its needed for the surgery.

To the lady who was upset cuz the "cleaning guy" wouldn't give her an update on her dog...he's not ALLOWED to! He's not a vet...do you understand that?? I understand the frustration but again...any updates have to come from Kathy not the help.

Recently I had my dog there (who I got from Kathy). He had taken a bad fall and was hurt real bad. I went to visit and I laid on the floor with my dog in the lobby with my dog and it didnt' smell like you all are saying. She saved my dogs life...I am forever grateful to her.

About 4 years ago I took one of cats to Quakertown Vet Clinic because he blocked and Kathy wasn't available...My bill?$1800.00. When another cat recently blocked and was taken to Kathy...the bill?$300.00.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad Qtown is there 24/7 for emergencies when Kathy isn't open...and for those of you who complain about that...Why complain?? She's not a 24/7 open clinic...Also many years ago for an emergency in the middle of the night I had to run one of dogs to Quakertown Vet Clinic. He had diabetes with an off the record level. They said he had to be there for 5 days to get regulated..The next day I called every few hours and kept being told he was doing ok. I went after work to visit..My dog was in a COMA!! NO ONE EVER CALLED....I cant' even begin to tell you te shock I was in. He died...so Qtown isnt' perfect either!..and I do blame Quakertown Vet. They brought his level down too fast which is what caused the coma.

Kathy might not have the best people skills..and have you ever wondered why?? She deals with a lot of idiot people..People who wait till their animal has been sick for weeks or longer and then expect her to perform a miracle and then blame her when the animal doesn't make it, people who abuse animals, people who don't take her advice and do what she tells them to do and the animal ends up back there... Trust me - she has seen it all..I know she's not perfect..she's human like the rest of us.

How do I know what I know? I have a family member who CURRENTLY works there. There is a lot more I could say but I'm not going to. All I know is a lot of the stuff written on here is total bull...

I've been going to Kathy for almost 2 decades..She's always done good for my animals. When my hurt puppy was there recently she called me at 11 at night to give me an update. About 5 years ago when one of my other dogs wasn't doing good she even gave me her home number incase I had an emergency with him when she wasn't there...my family member did not work there at that time so it wasn't that I got special treatment.

Like previous people have said..if your not happy with her go somewhere else....She truly does care about all the animals...

I've been taking my pets there for over 25 years and never had a problem with her with any of them. She has always been professional and I have never had any problem with any of her staff. I agree with the previous post. Go to someone else if you don't like her. Me, I will never go anywhere else with any of my pets. I also have never had a problem with any of her staff. Maybe YOU who are complaining are the problem. Are you nice to them or do you have an attitude???

I also have never had a problem with Kathy. It's the only place that would help my rescues that I could afford. She really loves animals like I and that is why I will continue to go there. If you don't like it .... go elsewhere !

It is intubate, not "tubate". Learn about anesthesia before you decide to say that is a lie. It is a fact that she uses isoflourane and a sedative only no matter what the surgery.

These are just too funny. What did we do before blogs? I was actually looking for Dr. Js phone number when I came across this blog and started reading. I would love to read them all but don't have the time.
I like Dr. J and not concerned at all about the smell. IT'S ABOUT ANIMALS - and animals can smell. I do appreciate the comments and if I were looking for a new vet I would take them into consideration. However, I don't think we need to read the comments to know whether or not we want to go there. One visit and you can pretty much decide whether she is for you. If you want a high priced vet - go elsewhere because she isn't for you. If you want a sterile environment - she isn't for you. If you want a staff that caters to you - she isn't for you. If you don't want to get animal hair on your clothes while in the waiting room - she isn't for you.
Personally I hope most of you decide to go elsewhere because then it will be much easier to get an appointment. She is so busy you have to wait a month to get in unless it is an emergency.
And OBTW - the Quakertown Vet Clinic used to be our vet until we had our Siberian Husky neutered there and he died - he got lockjaw a few days after the surgery and was dead within a week. They couldn't do anything to save him and actually wanted to charge us to put him down.
So don't sing praises to me about the sterile Quakertown Vet clinic.

Dr. Jamison has treated all 4 of my dogs over the years. She put my beloved Molson to sleep very gently with me by his side holding his head. The place is not a hospital, it is a clinic. The animals are just that....animals. I love my dogs but they are not people. As for the smell...who cares. My dogs were treated very well and I am very happy with Dr.J and her staff.

You are exactly correct. NO other vet's office smells like this place. Quakertown Vet, Mill Pond, Rockhill, Indian Valley...all are clean, but not this place. The stench is horrible. Once was enough for me.

You get what you pay for.

I took my dog there a few times but after she told me my dog was pregnant, even though she wasn't, I stopped going to her. I tried to call her to question her findings, she told me three puppies, at least. She never returned my calls.
