This vet is one of the most qualified, caring vets I know. It is a shame her staff does not represent her well. Her staff are rude, moody and unprofessional. Dr. Jamison deserves a better staff.

Dr. Jamison is a great vet!!! I haven't had a problem with her staff....sometimes it is hard to get an appointment but on emergency visits we've never had a problem. I hope your experience was just possibly her staff having a bad day and not the norm....

I will agree she is a great vet but your staff is a reflection of yourself. I stopped going there because I felt the office was dirty and it really smelled. I also do not like the fact that they do not have seperate sides for cats and dogs. I am a cat person and I am afraid of dogs.
Like I said she is a great vet but she needs to hire a office manager who will improve the "experience " of going there.

Why does that place smell so bad??

I too avoid going there simply because it smells so bad....I haven't been there myself in years but choose not too due to the smell that is permanently burned into my brain---even though I've been told that the prices are more reasonable than others in the area...its too bad

It smells from the monkey she keeps or used to keep there. My dog used to freak out when we went there and the monkey was loose and would just jump from room to room. Monkeys are not meant to be kept like that. They just aren't clean enough.

Dirty, maybe? That's what I assume, anyway. She used to be our vet and that question as to why it smelled badly in there always bothered me. I stopped going to her. It was just that bad!

I agree. We used to got there but left because of her staff. We had an emergency and her phone rang endlessly, no one would pick up even though they were open. So I finally drove in to find the receptionist sitting there ignoring the phone. I told her my problem and she was a complete a$$. That was the end of them. We got to the Quakertown Vet now. It's expensive but they really know their stuff!

I'm sure each experience can be different. But my parents had a dog with some problems that Mill Pond was not able to fix. Took him to Quakertown and they new exactly what to do. My inlaws had the same experience with their dogs also. I personally think they are outstanding. To each his own!

I had a dog that needed a major operation, took her to Qtown Vet, and they told me the surgery would cost at least $800 - just the surgery. I went for a second opinion to Kathy and she charged me $285 - that included a 4 day recovery stay at the vet, antibiotics, biopsy's and a teeth cleaning.

Her place may smell...but at least I know I'm not breaking the bank to take care of an animal.

I actually really liked Dr. Jamison. She's great! She also really knows her stuff. But as the OP stated, the staff is lacking.

I understand wanting to save money, we all do in this day and age. However the smell can be seen as proof that it is not up to par. Smell and filth go hand in hand. I am more concerned with my dogs well being than saving money. If it smells that bad in there, what germs and such are floating around in there?

wake up people, its a vet, it is for animals, not humans.that is why it stinks, and she is probably the absolute best vet in the se,pa area. the difference is she doesnt keep her place sparkling because she uses that money to make her bill more reasonable. where can you go to and get a vet of her caliber for that price....stop complaining and do what some have done...if your worried about the smell ,spend the money at another vet, or use the money you save with her and take a day off and go there and clean her sitting area.......

If you don't care about the health of your animal then yes it is fine to go there, and smell the stench. I care about my pets and am willing to take them somewhere that is cleaned and sanitized properly. Unsanitary conditions lead to infection. I am not interested in my animals dying so I can save a few bucks.

I've been using her for 20 years- so have friends and family. All my animals have loved her. She's performed a near miracle with one of my cats. Yeah it stinks there, and I dont know why, but her examining room looks very clean, and she's the most compassionate, well educated ( Univ. of PA) vet you'll ever find! Plus, her prices are the bomb. I love her. And she looks like Janis Joplin, so she's the whole package !!!
