Mumbauer is a very bad cop and should be stipped of his duty and prosecuted for murder.

Why is it ok for a cop to KILL someone? Not a bad man but someone handcuffed?

The next time YOU think a cop is good, think again.

Call someone on your phone and leave it open!

In a rural setting, when a cop pulls his firearm, we all need to also have our recording device on.

After all, if we are handcuffed and 160#'s what good is a gun to us?

F'n cops!

You are all Pathetic,Offcer Mumbauer is a dedicated officer and well respected by his coworkers and his community except for a few low lifes. the report shows the struggle they were in, and had the guy gotten officer Mumbauers weapon from him then this would have been a different story completly, and the guys family would still say it's the cops fault . please give me a break the guy was off his meds and out of control and other people in the area could have been injured or killed. It was a terrible thing to happen but it happened now get over it, The DA ruled it justifilable now get on with your lives..

Stop making excuses for a cop shooting a handcuffed prisoner. This out and out murder! People have been executed for less! If the law were properly applied, he would have been charged already! Furthermore, his partner would be tried as an accessory.

What if....what if... the guy never got his gun and most likely never went for it. It sounds like a made up story to justify murder.

No ! I did NOT vote for Obama! I'm pathetic be cause I don't want out of control, trigger happy cops running around shooting people after they're handcuffed. Somewhere in your mind you must know that this just is not right! Maybe you get some weird thrill from knowing that your police are barbaric. Cops are not paid to be judge, jury, and executioner! They're only paid to arrest people. To bring them to a judge, and a jury and possibly an executioner. Now maybe that does not agree with your notion of swift justice, but those are the princibles that this republic were founded on. NOT safety for the police at all cost, even death, to the citizens.
Which Dept do you work for? You sound like a spokesman for the police union whose starting to believe his own press releases!

150# Guy did that to two cops he should have been working for the CIA or the cops should be selling flowers at the corner of Haight and Ashbury.

No seriously, how can anyone feel safe with our cops getting beat-up like that. Our cops must feel pretty weak.

I could have subdued that guy without question or a gun or without him being cuffed.

My feelings exactly. Mumbauer was damned either way. He is called a murderer and a weak person for having to take the means he did to protect himself and the community. If marino had gotten control of the gun... Then mumbauer would have been a bad cop for not having control of the situation. I really feel for him. The blame can only be put on either marino himself or his family who knew he needed help desperately. If they tried to no avail... Then marino is responsible for himself and his own actions. If they sat back and knew what he was capable of (I seem to remember an incident in 2011 where he was tased more than once... With no effect... And had to be subdued by 5 officers and hospital staff)... Then they should just keep quiet. Don't blame the cops when things get out of control and lives are in danger... They're the ones stuck having to handle what you couldn't or chose not to. In a life or death situation... I'm sorry... But I would much rather see that the adult threatening the lives of innocent people and struggling with police so badly that he was thought to have thrown a cuff... killed than a good cop with a family and innocent people in town. Best case scenario would have been marino arrested and in a mental health facility right now... But unfortunately his actions that day caused the end of his life. His choice to stop his needed meds... His CHOICE. He was allowed to roam freely... Making his own choices... Choices that cost him his life. He chose to drive a car in that state... Threatening lives.... He chose to ingest drugs... He chose to threaten people... He chose to break into a building... He chose to plant a fake bomb... He chose to struggle with police... Move on people. Lessons are to be learned here.

IF...IF...IF... That's all you have!
IF Mumbauer was not a cop. IF Mumbauer had better training. IF Mumbauer was in better physical shape. IF Mumbauer wasn't trigger happy.

As for "move on"? You're the idiot who keeps bringing it back up!

Let's say this guy did try to take Mumbauer's gun;

Obstacle:
#1 Get past cop who's wearing it.
#2 The gun should have a snap strap.
#3 Figure out the weapon you just took.
#4 Chamber a bullet.
#5 Take off safe.
#6 Aim and shoot.

How long do you think this would all take?
I own many guns and at night? I would need at least a headlamp.

I agree with puddle jumper. This woman trying to rial this all out of proportion is from NJ. In stead of twisting the truth in PA to suit your needs in NJ why don't you just stay in Jersey. and keep your comments to New Jersey. God Bless this cop. Much better that the scum of society get killed than a Hero that puts his life on the line each and every day so people like you and me can safely walk the streets. I am originally from Sellersville and Proud to say that. Keep up the good work. God Bless!

Figure out the weapon?? I'm pretty sure there would be a round chambered already, and also a good chance there's no safe.

What a Jackass! If you think that's true, stay away from a cop, cause he/she is an accident waiting to happen.

OMG- without researching which sidearm the officer in question carried for duty - you do realize Glock service pistols are essentially fail-safe in that the ONLY safety is the trigger itself. Also true is that a round is already chambered and ready for service.

I find the officer's actions questionable for certain. I cannot comprehend an experienced, trained LEO losing the upper-hand to a cuffed and hostile subject. Yet numerous, more experienced LEO's throughout the nation lose their lives everyday in similar situations and scenarios.
