#1 When your team loses the first two games after having the lead at half time...it's a coaching issue.
#2 Why does the band take the 3rd Quarter off when the cheerleaders do much much more and they're out there the entire game! When the band is in a non-state year they need to help out the team as much as possible. Band director can't even motivate kids to be in the band. The whole point of the band being at football game is to provide energy for both the football team and the stands.

I'll get off my soap box now!

Spoken like a typical jerk who believes that football is the whole world.

I was a high school student in the 1970's. I was in an organization that entertained during sporting events. We always got the third quarter off to get something to eat and go to the rest room. This is not something new. Thanks.

Not saying that they shouldn't get a break. I'm saying they should earn one!

Maybe the football team should "earn" something also.

I will add that Green is a homeboy and should not be the coach.

What do you mean "earn" a break. Contact the school board if you have a beef.

Commerce had a lot of guys on their team, and plenty to run the ball. I think our guys got tired. I do, however, see a coaching issue here, as well. The band shouldn't have to "earn" a break, either. That's a ridiculous idea in itself, and I'll leave it at that. These small country towns are way too concerned with sports, and this is the main reason a decent, comprehensive education is never obtained.

The school thinks nothing about buying 50 or 60 pairs of new cleats and new sets of jerseys, pants, and pads EVERY year, yet cannot fund paper or supplies for instruction. Add to that the 10-15 coaches on staff, and all the expense of sports.

Their priorities are way backward.

what bothers me is...yes they have way too many coaches for this little school..but if they are "earning" thier pay then im all for it. the problem is that we have paid coaches on staff at cisd and that is all they can do. COACH! they arent smart enough to pass the teachers state exam so they can teach a class. so because of who they are..(good ole boys) or friends with someone...they draw an excellent salary to only coach.new homes, pick up trucks that cost more than my house did! nice vacations, ect...and im not 100% sure but ive been told they only assist coach. there is one thats an asst coach and he cant teach a class or even drive a school bus! now i believe the citizens of cooper should attend a school board meeting. maybe his salary could buy some kleenex, or pens or dry erase markers for the REAL teachers to use during class. maybe i wouldnt have to spend over $100 per child each yr for school supplies.

Band didn't bother to show up last night! They left their drums in the pouring rain and then once the rain stopped they went and put them up! That is just lazy and dumb! 2012 is not a state competition year for 2A Bands. This is what's wrong with Cooper Schools! No one is even trying to get these kids to be excited and proud of their own school! When your in high school you should be proud to be a Cooper Bulldog, chisum mustang, commerce tiger, or wherever you go to school. Kids aren't encouraged to strive for excellence on the field, off the field, in the classroom, or out of the classroom! Cooper teachers need to get on board with supporting the kids in all events athletic and academic! The cooper teachers are the absolute laziest when it comes to supporting the students. AS A TEACHER, PART OF YOUR JOB IS TO INVEST IN YOUR STUDENTS! Go above and beyond if you really care for the kids! Do more than what your required! No one is willing to go the extra mile to see these kids better themselves! Just pathetic that's why Cooper has turned into a Crap town! I put 90% of the blame on Cooper teachers and 10% of the blame on Cooper/delta county officials!

Bulldog nation, you are an absolute MORON.

Do you stay late at work for no pay? You sound like one who's kids are the ones that need their asses busted at school but would be the first one to raise hell about it.

Are you saying he's not good enough because he's from here? Wow! What a statement. To me it says Green liked his roots and wanted to come back and play it forward. Look at how many have come back to the area to retire. To me, it says this is a good place to live and be a part of. What better tribute to the Delta Co communities that the kids want to come back and be a part of the county they grew up in. Why I ask, are you so negative. Might it be your ill will stems from jealousy? Hmm, just a thought.....just saying.

Hi, Bulldog. As long as we are talking about school, teachers and education, I think I should tell you that you did not use "You're" correctly. You said "YOUR" when you should have said "YOU'RE". Quit worrying about the band and worry about your own stupidity. Thanks.

No jealousy. Simply stating that Green should not be the coach and the only reason he is is politics.

"When your in high school" should have been either "when you're in high school" or "when you are in high school."
