It's like magic! All the dems have turned into Republicans. We don't have have not even one dem. What happened? And what are the dems going to do? The dyed in the wools will only have 2 choices. Eithe you will vote Republican or you won't vote for locals. If you don't vote, you don't have a voice in who is elected. It's all in the name.

I'd like to know EXACTLY what snakes you are talking about and what facts you have?!? GR may not have been an ass kissing yes man that the people of this county would like, but he got alot done because he didn't play your county's little game of politics and didn't attempt to do EVERYTHING that citizens think HAD to be done. He might have been able to do a little more as Sheriff, but the taxpayers voted in Teague and look where that got ya!

Just to name a few things:

1 - Ricky Allen Barnett convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life with parole
2 - Phillip Kennedy arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine, not only once, but TWICE!
3 - Billy Dean Lyle known dope cookin three counties locked up for 25 years!
4 - Jack Langston locked up in prison after molesting children in Pecan Gap for the previous 50 years!
5 - Markease McCarty sentenced to 3 life sentences for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child
6 - Curtis Ford for numerous burglaries

The list goes on and on. Granted, GR didn't personally do these things himself, but he sat in the office and let his crew get these things done, that your current Sheriff got rid of immediately after taking office. Cooper was certainly on its way to being a respectable place to live. Now it's on its way to hell with the voters driving the bus! Just some food for thought when you think about who you should vote for.GR obviously knew who to run the machine and how while he held office! What can the current Sheriff post on here that he has done productive since he took office??

Excellent post! I absolutely agree, if some of the other citizens of Delta County would get a clue and vote for someone (G.R.) who wanted to do a good job right, then this could be a great place.

It's up to all of us to let them know we want the law upheld. No one is above the laws and rules. Not our ministers, politicians, doctors, and every day people. We are the people and we need to let our voices be heard.

Tell me about it! I know a man that was railroaded. He got into a fight at his own home, two guys jumped him so he cut them with a small pocket knife. Unfortunately one was a nephew of the sheriff. His trial was a mockery of our judicial system. Relatives of the so called victims on the jury. Lies told by witnesses who were covering their own butts. The arresting sheriff was in the room while jury was deciding this mans fate. Evidence that proved he was not the monster they painted him to be was not admitted to be presented before the jury. A disgusting display of small town politics!
