Expect things like this to happen more often...people are angry. Unfortunately, they lash out at the wrong people.

Ok. So this guy basically loses his job, then robs the place because he has no money. After the robbery, he goes to the casino, buys a flat screen tv, and goes out to eat. Don't you think he might put some money away for that "rainy day", instead of blowing it all?

"I really need the money - you don't understand - I have a gambling addiction to feed! Oh, and I need a big television to watch the World Cup - I've got soccer fever."

Holy crap - maybe the guy would have earned the slightest bit of empathy if he had some kids at home and he was buying clothes and food for them. Either way he needs to spend some time in prison, but since he really didn't "need" the money I think he should also have a couple beatings tossed his way.

I would've felt more compassion if it turned out he paid bills, bought food, that type of thing. Still, I've had hours cut and lost jobs but haven't turned to armed robbery to solve my financial crisis.

this is only the beginning. anarchy is around the corner. gather your neighbors
and start planning on helping each other. we elect the wrong people for the wrong reasons to lead us. Dismiss this as some paranoid the sky is falling missive.

Why does Aldi mainly employee women? Every Aldi store I have been to has been mostly women working. Is Aldi doing reverse discrimination??

If Aldi were a union store, they would not have gotten away with cutting the poor young man's hours, and he would not have been forced into a life of crime by the greedy employer. Live better - work union.

Forced into a life of crime so that he could purchase his 50" television and go to the casino. My heart is breaking.

And how do we lash out at the right people????? Especially when most of you are so phoney that you will say so much here but in the real world you will agree with the tallest person in the crowd wether right or wrong. I have calls from MN reps., MN capitol, and us whitehouse on my caller id right now. what have you all done to try to get things under control in your area??? Bitching in these groups DOES NOTHING!

Store Clerks (union and non-union) earn the pay they get. It one of the most dangerous jobs in the U.S. and it has a very high rate of injury due to violence. Store clerks are more apt to be victims of gun play than police officers. Next time you are in a store- thank the clerks...
