Good deal. Hope they do 4 or 5 streets a year and start paving the unpaved streets too. Keep applying for that stimulus money.

As I said in the "other" posting. What about Pomo/Burns Valley/Arrowhead....I thought the chillldrennns safety was foremost with you libs, yet your repaving a stretch of road through an orchard first. And about half of that Burns Valley Road project is already new curb and gutter the city had the property owner install. Another project blown out of proportion and your usual reporting by omission from our local "correspondent"....G IVE ME A BREAK.....PLEASE.

I'm sure our roads will look nice. When does the stimulas money help those who are working full time and barely getting by? Obama needs to go and find another job.

that road through the orchard as you put it....is the most traveled in that area it is a main artery for those who live in and around the area you named, Pomo Rd is the direct access road the school buses take each day over and over again, so unless you live in the immediate area you would better understand the need for better roads. If you don't understand...well too bad so sad for you.
I have seen the markings on the road so it is great something is coming that will make it better especially for my vehicle when I go down those streets.

I'm sure this wasted government money that our grandkids must repay will make a drastic improvement on this horrible excuse for a city. This entire city should be condemmed as I have been to many 3rd world countries that are in much better condition without the resourses that Clearlake has. Without Government subsidy where would Clearlake residents be ?????? IN THE STREETS instead of inline at Foods Etc. cashing welefare checks. CONDEM THE CITY!!!

A year ago the city got a grant from the state that repaved old hwy 53, Olympic, and Lakeshore Drive past city hall to Country Club drive.

I have lived here 25 years and was the most extensive road project in this town ever. Very much needed and long overdue. The stimulus road project appears to be building on and extending the improvements already done. Keep up the good work!

I for one would like to see the City make road improvements a priority. Stop patching potholes with greasy gravel, in fact do away with the maintenance dept all together. Take their budget and use it to bid on more repaving instead. We don't need more city employees we need and deserve our roads.

What the beautiful city of Clearlake needs is a large fleet of D-10 Dozers lined up in a row at the top of Lakeshore with their blades lowered. Dont stop until I say so!!!!!!!!!!

our federal government, in their wisedome, wanted to help revitalize the economy by throwing money at it in the form of work projects. our local government can only work with the cards they are dealt. I would find it neglagent, if they had not applied for the money for roads.

BUT, i think the economy would have been really stimulated if instead of TARP or BARFF trillions of dollars given away never to be seen again ( or accounted for) they had just sent a check for $10,000 to every taxpayer of record from 2008. It would have cost less overall and would have been a great shot in the arm to our economy. Trickle up economics works trickle down does not

I have seen the same "markings" every other time the City was supposed to repave these roads, the city had grant money once, then the school district had a grant to have it done, where did that money go??? And where is the curb and gutter Arrowhead was supposed to have over 5 years ago...oh I remember they repaved (for the second time in 3 years) Old 53 from Lakeshore to the "Apartments".
The only stimulus that will arise will be maintenance on the low quality work that will inevitably be done on these roads.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Aquarius

Avoid making promises today, or even believing in other people's promises. Today is not a good day to make commitments, as they are not likely to materialise. Taking risks is a no-no. Try to relax until the numbers are in your favour. Those pursuing their career will benefit.
