Two weeks ago my mom bought a little play may for my daughter at a yard sale. this morning my husband found a bug crawling on him we looked it up its a bed bug!! The lady that sold the CHILD'S play mat knew she had bed bugs which is why she was moving and getting rid of the stuff they live in. How could she sell it knowing it would go to another baby infecting the household with bed bugs luckily we have found them early and they aren't in our beds just the play mat and couch I wish I could go to this lady's house and give her a piece of my mind but since I don't know where it was and my mom can't remember I hope you read this and are ashamed of yourself. And to anyone else be very cautious when buying anything at a yard sale whether its clothing furniture or toys the bed bugs will live in anything!!!

How do you know they knew? You don't!
Good freaking God I bet everybody you work with hates to be around you because you're obviously one of "those" people. Bed bugs are not a death sentence. You can get rid of them with one or two treatments. What's next? Are you gonna start bitching because the used items you bought from a thrift store came covered in the dead skin cells and microscopic fauna from the previous owner?

Get a life.

What do you mean "those people"? One who hates bedbugs and other filthy things? You're a loon for thinking bedbugs are okay. Do you think an std is alright too? I would never buy personal items anymore at a yard sale or anywhere else. A lot of people are dirty and think nothing of selling their crap to others. Bedbugs are epidemic because of nonchalant people thinking it's no big deal. Grow up and get a life yourself. You probably live in a pigsty anyway. Disgusting.

If bed bugs are an epidemic then so are things like *gasp* demodex and *gasp* worms, both of which you probably have. Just because a bug is visible doesn't make it more of a problem than any of the millions of things that each and every one of us are infested with. I'm assuming "those" people are the people who go out looking for things to be pissed off about. It's not as though these people gathered a 3 gallon bucket of bed bugs and dumped it on your front porch. But hey, if you want to be angry about buying something that just happened to transport bed bugs into your home, more power to you but I'm more than certain the people you bought it form wouldn't drag your ass through the mud because the money you handed them was covered in your own body secretions, epithelial cells, and parasites.

I think what Someone says is true. Do you actually have proof that the lady in question was moving because she had a bed bug infestation.

All that said it should serve as an important lesson - never buy anything from a second hand store or privately be it clothing, furniture or anything else without first checking it thoroughly for signs of any kind of pests including bed bugs.

I'm sorry but I would be upset too if something came with bedbugs on it. 99% of the time these "home treatment" of bedbugs don't work and you end up having to call someone in to do the job. That's about a $1500 fee here in Crossville alone.

The lady had to of known she had bedbugs. One night with these things and you know you have them. Sounds like she was trying to make a quick buck at other peoples expense instead of just chucking the things in the trash.

And for those jumping on here acting casually like bedbugs are not a thing well by all means lets put some in your house and see how easy you can get rid of them without calling an exterminator. I bet after your house gets infested and you pay a hefty fee for getting rid of them you will be singing a different tune.

Get educated first. Bedbugs are not the same as epithelial cells or worms you get from eating uncooked food. It is epidemic in a lot of cities and it's not easy to get rid. Once they get a foothold into your environment, it's an arduous task to eradicate them. This mother didn't indicate she was phobic about germs and if there were bedbugs on the mat, you can be sure they were in the home. Like cursing someone because they like to wash their hands after using the bathroom. It's always amazing how people call someone bitching when something is dirty or infested; makes you wonder what kind of level of cleanliness they live in.

Who said anything about worms from under cooked food? We all have worms. We get them from the environment.

Whatever. I'm not going to debate someone who thinks bedbugs aren't a big deal.

I'm disgusted by the fact that I've let my daughter play on something my mom got her I didn't even think about bed bugs when she brought it in. And now I'm looking at having to get covers for two mattresses and a crib we are having to get a new couch because the exterminator said the chemicals won't reach the middle. I have to take everything off my walls and wash every piece of cloth in my house with a baby here so for anyone saying having bed bugs isn't that big of a deal ill let you come get some and let them live where your baby plays and see if your still up for defending the person that gave them to me!!

Guess you are to damn stupid to do internet research

READ THIS BRIGHT ONE!

Clean bedding, linens, curtains, rugs, carpets, and clothes. To kill bed bugs, wash items in hot water and dry them on the highest dryer setting. Soak delicate clothes in warm water with lots of laundry soap for several hours
before rinsing. Wool items, plush toys, shoes, and many other items can be placed into a hot dryer for 30 minutes to get rid of bed bugs.

That's to keep it after it has bed bugs in it I'm smart enough to throw it away. I'm smart enough to have a good enough job that I don't have to keep every little thing. Maybe trash like you have to send it around the whole trailer park in order to afford it. Dumbass get a damn job and take care of your kids you piece of trash

But you're not smart enough to inspect an item before buying it for signs of bugs. Throwing away a perfectly good item after buying it when it could be washed and essentially "cured" of its problem is moronic.

Your moronic the only reason I kept it is because my mom got it for my baby. I'm actually throwing away a lot of good stuff that can be cured of their problems if you would like to come pick through it feel free and then you will see what I'm dealing with

Whoa now. Just because somebody doesn't see the sense in throwing something away when it could be washed/repaired doesn't make them trash. Some of us respect the planet and the work put into manufacturing too much to just throw things away all willy-nilly. Since you're so high and mighty, what the hell are you doing shopping at yard sales in the first place? So your husband's disposable income allows you to throw away perfectly good stuff because you can't be assed to check it over and/or clean it before bringing it into your home. Congratulations, but I'm not sure the world cares.

And yes I'm either sad to say or proud to say I've never had bed bugs never even thought about them now I'm checking everything even brand new warehouses get infested all the time even people who rent to own send their stuff back infested because they are to poor to finish buying it and to stupid to get rid of the bugs just like every single one of you for trash talking me because I'm mad I got bed bugs from a baby's toy. I bet it was one of you dumbasses that sold it to my mom now your trying to put it off like its my fault. Well fuk you asshole try making a few pennies somewhere else instead of infesting other people's homes
