Went to Life church recently..really enjoyed the service but was taken back by the armed deputy standing in the foyer..just shocked me..never saw that before..it sent warning bells off in my head...what was the purpose of that?Do they need an armed police officer during service..are there criminals going there they dont trust..I thought it was a place of love and acceptance, felt more like a concert or event with the pastor coming in after services began, than exiting before the audience could get to him after services. It was a good service, just weird, unlike what iv seen before, anyone else have a similar experience, and can they give me more info about the church?..thanks

I go there and I have seen the deputy but it did not really bother me. I love it there. There messages have really helped me shape my life up. Bobby is someone I can relate to and I like how he preaches the word no matter if it offends people or not. I know he has sure hit me in the areas I need to work on. As far as the deputy goes I kind of liked that he was there in case some nut ever went cazy like they do sometimes across the country.

Now you come off saying at first you enjoyed the service but the rest of your paragraph sure hints at you just trying to stir some trouble. You sound like you are offended about something and you are taking it out on the church. You ask for more info about the church? You attended there didn't you? Seems like that would be your best source of info to me. When I go I just focus on the message and get filled up with the Lord to get me through the rest of the week.

God bless you brother! I mean that.

i think Life church is in total denial and i dont mean the river! what church has an armed deputy, in uniform, standing in the foyer ? if Life church is so welcoming, would you feel welcome as a visitor seeing that? not me, i would feel totally uneasy and in no hurry to go back there! if Bobby Davis is so good , he should be willing to be approachable to his congregation and stop worrying about guarding his safety with deputies. he may able to speak and teach the word but has no people skills whatsoever. i feel like he has a room full of bouncers in red jackets and yet no one could approach him if they tried. come on, an armed deputy? life church...get a life!

I love Life church and approve of all they do...they have the most welcoming greeters and ushers. The choir is so good and the nursery staff is awesome. So what if they have a deputy, even wackos go to church...give em a break...they have changed my life there. Pastor Bobby Davis is good but he's not the church to me. Greg Canada is one of the best, most easy going, approachable pastors I've come in contact with. Thank you Life Church for changing my life and showing me that Jesus gets me to heaven not my pastor or church.

Hey I actually agree with you about the high and mighty part. The people sometimes give me the same opoinion but that is how it is everywhere. People that hae money think they put there pants on different from the people that barely get by. I overlook there pride though and Bobby has put them in there place a time or two. I have a bit of a social problem anyhow. Bobby however has helped me look at it comically when someone at church might offend me(this could just be a bad look for me) I pull myself together and say Lord bless them and laugh a little that I can now dismiss my anger by just giving it to God and saying bless them. At first you say it not meaning it at all but then I started to get this joy to me when I say Lord bless them to whoever sends my anger meter sky rocketing.(again very easy for me) Anger has been probably my worst weakness. I even know that the Biblestates a man quick to anger is basically stupid. So I am working on it . I really never even talk to anyone because well most do seem grouchy to me. I go to hear God's word and for guidance. I like his messages and I like the other speakers also that fill in sometimes. The music is also uplifting. Sometimes I go to church with a chip on my shoulder but by the end of the service I feel like a million bucks.

I really don't think they asked the guy to come in uniform. He just kind of shows up in it I believe. He sets with his familly during church . Seems like a good guy to me. Life church is great and has helped me get on track with the path God has layed out for me. Yes I still have a ways to go but I am giving it my best. I used to be at bars during church service. I have not had a drop in over a year now. No AAA for me, just give it to God. I used to be bad to the bone but now I am good to the Throne. God bless you all!

That is very odd...why would he do that?Regardless of all that, keep focusing on the Word..dont get ditracted by earthly things like that..people are people..only question i have is is he on tax payer time or on his own when he is there in uniform..A lot of folks who are hurting and broken might be put off by that especially if they have had run ins with this guy..have to be careful not to project wrong image to visitors, after all,its all about jesus

Yeah I think he could do without the uniform and gun but I still focus on the message.

Just had to comment that you seem pretty grouchy and easily angered in your post and in a later post you mention having social problems and getting angry easily....just an observation and to me it was a little humorous because...well just because:):):)

Amazing that that invisible, all powerful, all knowing god would need an armed guard outside of a church. Doesn't that seem a bit strange? Wouldn't this invisible man protect his "flock of sheep" from harm?... No?.... Hhhmmm.....

Even deputies need to attend services. I hope you were not discriminating just because he was a law enforcement official. Was there any black people there too. God works in mysterious ways. Remember Paul preached to the guards while he was in prison. Just think.

Sure he will protect us. He give us enough commen sense to arm ourselves in case we come under attacks from the the followers of the devil. Sometimes that means with a gun! Sometimes that means with his word. Have you guys not watched the news with all the bad things going on. Armed deputy doesnt seem to bad to me. I just think it should be more undercover. No uniform and concealed weapon would be smarter anyhow. If it was for a robbery I would agree to just let them take the money, after all it is a church. Only in the time of someone trying to kill a bunch of people should the armed deputy take action. Yes it is a shame that we should even think someone would do that but with all these unbelieving sinners out there, it is the world we live in. A world where people do open fire on innocent people in places like schools and everywhere else. I support guns for safety against idiots that decide to go out and kill people for no reason.
