"One time I saw Sam Harris eat a ten ounce steak off the back of a welfare boy while defending the civil liberties of child molesters but that ain't no way to practice law no how. Nope. Now you may spend the money on him because he's less expensive than us, but I'll tell you when your back is turned he'll be jamming needles in a voodoo doll of you mark my words and that ain't no way to practice law."

Are you a moron. Hruska is so clueless he can't even find his way into the courtroom. My son was appointed to him and it was embarrassing that he passed the bar.

If you need a good atty, you should really go to Jaramiah Hruska. He is a fair lawyer and he even takes payment plans for those of us that are living on a month to month basis.
HRUSKA IS THIS YOU?? Stop the pain now and go back to whatever job you had before. It will be a benefit to everyone including your clients.

I did not write the above post. I use my real name. I know what I am doing, and I work very hard for my clients. Why don't you use your real name or complain in person? You're pathetic.

This is true Hruska does work hard for his clients and does a good Job. I doubt he would be posting on topix but non the less I would recommend him he is down to earth and a good guy. I think he is one of the few who really cares about his clients and what he does

I have used Hruska and would recommend him to anyone. He cares about his clients. If you want a better attorney better start looking in Nashville or Knoxville.

Does he actually have a residence? It's really not pertinent to his professional character, but I heard he lived in his office.

I recently used an attorney out of Sparta. Her name is Cindy H. Morgan. She is an excellent attorney. You will not be disappointed with her.

If your looking for a good lawyer, try Luke Chaffin or Rady Chaffin. Both are excellent in the courtroom and fairly priced

I am not here to bash anyone but I will tell you this. Sam Harris is not a very good person or lawyer. He tends to try to make you feel as if you are not worthy of his time. It amazed me that SAm thinks he is above the law and anyone who he comes across. I retained his services last year and not one time did he bother to show up in court at any of my sons hearings. When asked why he said that he was busy REALLY then why take on my case. Each time I called to inquire about what was the "plan" for lack of a better word he would act like it was an inconvenience to even talk with me. Not like I was calling for free advice I paid the man well. I guess what it comes down to is take your money else where he may be cheaper but you get what you pay for, in my case it was nothing and a lot of back talk.

As far as corruption in your fair city Sam Harris, is the one you should look at! Sam Harris was Suspended from the practice of law on August 21, 2013, for failure to complete continuing legal education requirements in 2012. He was not reinstated until December 13, 2013. Any one he represented during this time frame has a claim against Sam Harris, an the court - that allowed him to practice law without a license. This can be proved by contacting the ABA association at Nashville, and Brentwood Tennessee.

Samuel Harris came to Cookeville in 1995. He and his wife Lisa Harris were both attorneys who opened the Harris Law Firm. Lisa was a damn good lawyer who was worth the money, passionate about her career, and cared about her clients. Sam was great back in the day but could be unpleasant to be around with his over exaggerated conservative views and was extremely arrogant. They took on a case that was against Cookeville P.D. Cookeville cops are power hungry rednecks and everyone knows it! After the case was won Cookeville cops chased their family out of town. Sam came back to Cookeville though when Lisa and him separated about 2006 after she got sick with cancer. Sam treated his family poorly. He did indeed live in his office while his sick wife and kids lived at home. I heard Lisa died recently bless her heart. Now him and his kids are living in Nashville with his new wife. Last I heard he is retired from law.

I am wondering if anyone has had any history with this lawyer
I retained this so called lawer, named Sam Harris, paid him $2,500.00. When I could never contact him I contacted the bar association an learned that he had been disbarred from the practice of law on August 21, 2013, an this was the second time he has been disbarred. Sam Harris, took our money an moved away from Cookeville, Tn. an allowed our Civil Case to become invalid. I contacted the bar association and was told that they had filed a Complaint to pull his license to practice law. The Bar Association also stated that they were having problems on locating him. When we went to the District Attorneys office in Cookeville, Tn. and asked for Criminal charges to be brought against this so called thief of an attorney we were told NO. When I asked the District Attornys' associate, " If I had taken this money from Sam Harris, an had not rendered any type of service, would you have prosecuted me"? Yes, was his reply! So I would assume if you are an attorney, disbarred attorney, you can steal, "thief by deception" leave the area an have absolute immunity!
At this date and time my $2,500.00 has not been returned, nor has the DA's office in Cookeville, Tn. charged Sam Harris, with any type of crime.
