Typical response. I have seen several, I have seen accounts set up by these churches, several of them. I have head their leaders boast of them. I speak from knowledge or I keep my mouth shut. I have no prejudice, just no tolerance of someone who believes i MUST be wrong because my opinion differs from theirs. A few things in the Bible that address your attitude, and you can apply them and self-judge. I don't make that my business, but I am free to make observations any time. Oh, and I don't drink wine, so I doubt the need to "swirl" it in my glass. I have worked hard and managed a small nest egg is all. And yes, true christians are supposed to be meek, or are you totally unfamiliar with the Sermon on the Mount? Really?

ACCUSING
Do not accuse a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm (Pr. 3:30).

ANGER
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret it leads only to the evil (Ps. 37:8).
Of wise man fears for the Lord and shuns evil, but a fool is hot headed and reckless. A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated (Pr 14:16-17).
A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control (Pr. 29:11).

ARGUING AND FIGHTING
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger (Pr. 15:1).
A hot tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel (Pr. 15:18).
When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him (Pr. 16:7).
Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out (Pr. 17:14).
It is to a man's honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel (Pr. 20:3)
Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful (2 Tim. 2:23-24).
All of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble (1 Pet. 3:6).

BAD LANGUAGE
Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips (Pr. 4:24).
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen (Eph. 4:31).

BITTER SPIRIT
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger; brawling and slander, along with every form of malice (Eph. 4:31).

COMPLAINING
Do everything without complaining or arguing (Ph. 2:14).

DISRESPECT
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves (Rom. 12:10).
Show proper respect to everyone; Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king ( 1 Pet. 2:17).

SCORN AND MOCKING
If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer (Pr. 9:12).
The eye that mocks a father, that scorns obedience to a mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures (Pr. 30:17).

Well, one thing you can count on me to be is consistent. You? Not samuch.

You're right- religion or no, doesn't make you a good person. Only you can do that.

You speak some truth here, Jane- but what you can't see is your own reflection in the mirror. As Wondering, you boasted of your deposit certificate and made a few little quips one might imagine could only come from a person who swirls their wine in a glass before sipping it- but when it same right down to it it was nothing more than another dig at churches and the people in them.
I assure you Wondering Mary Jane none of this makes no nevermind to me- churches being tax exempt. What DOES is every ounce of prejudice you've poured out on these pages. Your prejudice robs you and steals from others.
And I assure you, Ginger, I am only Wondering. I am neither Jane nor Mary. You may assume that if you wish, as I'm sure you will, because it's obvious that you believe yourself to be the only knowledgeable poster on Topix, and you can not be wrong. I have already told you that my knowledge is indeed knowledge, and not a belief based on an opinion without facts, so that pretty much shoots your prejudice out of the water. Also, I only commented on your unchristianlike behavior, so therefore, I had no preconceived judgment of you, the observation I made was made after you showed your great devotion to being Christ like by name calling right off the bat. I stand by that observation.

And that one is just an opinion without directly bashing anyone. It is frank and to the point and is my same opinion about giving money to hobos beside the interstate collecting money, I think if people are ignorant enough to give it, they deserve to have it taken, plain and simple.. I'm not defaming your character OR your religion as a religion, just the practice of taking money from people for nothing, in ANY form other than directly to a charity.
And it doesn't make any of us bad people for not agreeing with your craziness of calling people out, reaming them over their religion choice, and then preaching them to NOT do that? Practice what you preach, or don't preach.

Thirteen uses of the word "you" in the above post.

Your very first words to me were "I wonder if you are a Christian".
You see- you already had answered your own question, now you expound. And expound, and expound. Prejudice, based on my calling a dumbass a dumbass.
But you found yourself married to his opinion so took it I was calling you a dumbass, too?

Tell me Wondering- if you consider yourself to be a Christian, which is worse? To be called a dumbass, or for someone to tell you you're not really a Christian?

*gasp!* Did I ream someone for their choice of religion? Mercy, and here I thought I was standing up against prejudice all along.

Did I say you were all bad people for not "agreeing" with my actions you call craziness? Show me where I did that if you would.

You're just back peddling now. You can say that your opinions are just frank and to the point, but there they lay for all to see, as are your prejudices against Christians. Do you really think that Chritians are trying to buy their way into heaven? That God buys pistachios with church money? That all preachers drive cadillacs? I do believe you are smarter than that- yet here you are having stated the same. Was it just all in good fun?

When churches make enough money that they can afford to build mega structures, then I think they can damn well pay the taxes on the property. And don't say it is for the community. That's bull, it is for their church community and no one else. Also, to lure more people to go to that church. Why do you need a gym, etc. to worship god. God's message isn't about "stuff". It looks like greed to me and isn't that a deadly sin?

Actually, I believe my first post to you was to make a statement that I wonder if you even go to church. In no way do I believe everyone who goes to church is a christian. Also, in no post do I believe I ever said I am a christian. In case you didn't catch it, I have very little respect for organized religion. You just go right ahead on and tell me I'm not a christian, that's just fine with me. I just despise religious people who pretend at being christians while downgrading their fellow man. That's not prejudice, that's just the way it is. I dislike you because you are a condescending person who likes to belittle others. Plain and simple.

And sorry, Knows One, I'm not a religious zealot. I was merely trying to point out to Ginger how she isn't practicing what she is preaching.

No need, I agree 100% with with you on the Ginger part. Practice what you preach or don't preach at all to others. I live my belief sytem daily, and even though I do practice it, I don't preach to anyone because the last thing ANYONE wants to hear is why their religion is wrong and yours is right.. I'm not a christian of course, so I can see this.. Religious Zealots of course can not see that, and will probably come in directly after this post preaching me and saying we're all scared of their religion...blah blah.. sheesh.

Anyways, Wanted to let you know I agree, Ginger is a hypocrite loser who likes to bully people into to listening to her beliefs. The typical zealot of not practicing what you preach, and driving people away from what you believe in by thinking that you are holier than thou and feeling the need to exercise it on people constantly.

Why would anyone be scared of religion?

Taxing churches will only open the door for more of Mr. Washington in everyone's business, christian or not.

Oh, I caught it, loud and clear. And it's plain to see how you feel about people who are part of "organized religion". <-- I chuckle every time I hear that word. Organized as opposed to what? It's a very tricky way of trying to discredit the members of all churches by the bad deeds of a few, nothing more.
