Dr. Eskander. Argues with you about current meds that you've been on for years and substitutes it all a bunch of crap that he thinks you should be on. Go here and you'll be screwed up for months until you get a doctor that will listen to you. Rating - inept.

I went to Dr. talmage and had an MRI done via workmans comp.
I went for follow up and analysis of MRI, Talmage preceded
to tell me nothing was wrong with my back and my pain was
imaginary, all I had was natural wear and tear.
When I was leaving I asked for copies of his analysis, when I read it, it said I had 3 bulging disc,1 ruptured disc, and Stenosis
in one of my vertibrae! Is this even legal for him to do that?
at upper cumberland orhtopedics...same thing...injury through work, told me all in my head, work through pain, blah, blah, blah. Had a 98% rupture ACL after insisting on MRI. He then told me he wouldn't do surgery on someone my age...46 and very active. Needless to say I called my employer and got a new doctor.
I think they (some doctors) do it because they don't stand to make as much money and don't feel it is worth their time. Example: an MRI for a person with insurance costs average $2000, a person with no insurance but paying cash up front $1000, and workman's comp insurance cost is $500. It would stand to reason the doctor would get paid less too. What ever happened to the hippocratic oath?

You might try taking a copy of the report to your employer and see if they would let you see another doctor, although they don't have to:
Under Tennessee law, the employer or insurance carrier is not required to offer a second panel of physicians or a second opinion. If asked, however, the insurer or employer MAY provide a second panel. An employee may always seek a second opinion or obtain treatment with any physician at his/her own expense. However, only the restrictions of the authorized physician must be followed by the employer.
Pretty much sucks, huh? I was fortunate that my employer's insurance allowed this and I was able to get a good doctor (in Nashville). Another thing that sucks is that by Tennessee law your employer only has to reimburse you so much, and that is after you have been out 7 consectutive days or more:
The Workers' Compensation Law sets limits on the maximum and minimum amounts of weekly compensation paid to injured employees. The average of the employee's gross wages will determine the weekly rate. The amount of the benefits are calculated using two-thirds of the employee's average weekly wage over the 52 weeks prior to the injury.
Your employer may elect to make up the difference. Mine didn't, and so I only recieved 66% of my regular pay for several months. If what you post is true (and I tend to believe it because I have been there), I would be seriously tempted to report him to the medical board.
Hope things work out for you and you have a good and speedy recovery.

"Dr." Talmage and "Dr." Hudson both @ Occupational Health. Everything is in your head. Also "Dr." Jefferey Hazeleood in Lebanon. All unethical, inept,if not verging on criminal. Hurt twice @ work with back injury and nerve damage. Got away from rat race work comp and going to specialists. I was also diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis in Oct. Arthritis of spine with inflammation,in my facet joints of vertebrae, base of neck now spreading into right shoulder. It is also systemic andcan and does affect my hips,my ankles and feet,my knees,my neck,my eyes (blurred vision),my kidneys ---/which I already had problems with my whole life. It is also an auto immune disorder and the pain can be downright debilitating. My spinecould fuse in stooped over or bolt upright condition. During bad flares, that can come @ anytime,my rib cage stiffens and makes it hardto breathe and like ive been kicked in the back. This has also affected my swallowing foods and even liquid. I do not have full range of motion in torso and arm and right leg and foot. My Dr. now said it was visible in my 2009 mri .....the arthritis of the spine and he was clearly aggravated by the fact that tests and blood work and diagnosis wasn't done. So, I went 2 years where this was progressing and pain becoming unbearable,to where it is @ the moderate stage instead of onset. Believe me,moderate stage feels like hell. Medications alone I have to have to keep it controlled stops me from being productive worker, along with physical restrictions. I'm just thankful they have caught it @ moderate instead of severe stage, cause I'm grateful not to be walking stooped over looking at ground and at fused stage. Every time it hits my hips and ihave difficulty walking,I worry is this the beginning of fusing? I also have bulging disc @ l5 s1 with nerve impingement, but that is now the least of my worries. I stay sick a lot due to my immune system overworking itself to fight inflammation, and my body literally wears itself out from fighting the inflammation. Not to mention the stiffness and spasms alone from the arthritis of the spine. That's your core. I'm on antibiotics packs often now due to white platelets being up........so thanks to these quack "doctors" I mentioned. Thanks for not listening and treating me like I wanted to be injured and not wanting to work. While I didn't make bank,it was still more money than no income at all. If you would have half way listened and looked, I would still be working and my husband would have a little less stress......same to the work comp insurance that my employers used......what a joke!!! But,yep, all in my head. This is not due to wear and tear from age either.....only in mid 30's.......it was traumatic injury from 3 years apart. I was direct caregivers. The injuries triggered it,along with the drag footing of my work comp and these bought "doctors".....

Dr. Samuels is a big Quack,a friend of mine went to Cookeville ER and was seen by this silly Dr.Samuels! My friend was in severe pain and had a testicle the size of a football, he told my friend there was nothing he could do for him and that
he needed to go home and lose some wieght!I asked the Dr. what if it bust? And he said we would cross that bridge when we get to it!Needless to say
my friend requested to be transported to Baptist,
where they took 50 pounds of fluid off him!
So if you go to the Cookeville ER and get a black
Dr. Samuels ,RUN!!!
I agree! My husband went to the ER a few years ago for being seriously sick. We were of the younger age, and could pass as Tech students. Anyways, he barely even saw my husband, saw he was fine and to quit partying (WTF?!) and to go home, drink fluids, yatta yatta. Two days later we went back because he was not getting ANY better, just worse. Come to find out (if the f*cking Doc had done blood work) that my husband had a bad case of food poisoning (from Arby's is our only assumption) that required heavy medication intake. He was in overnight with an IV just to get his body back on track.

So, RUN IF YOU KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO GET DR. SAMUELS!!!!

Dr. Samuels treated my wife in the ER and did a great job. She was scared to death (her heart was out of rhythm) and he was extremely proficient in getting things back in order. He was also very kind and reassuring. So it depends on what your ailment is, I reckon.

I am still working on trying to forgive samuels for how he treated or rather mistreated my daughter in er several years ago. I was there with her, I know! And more telling was how he lied under oath. We did not sue and we really could have,so I would love for him to try to sue me for defamation. I think the public should be aware and protected from someone like him!

Everyone has an opinion and mine is great for Dr. Samuels. I was treated by him in the ER one night and he was a wonderful doctor. He took time to find out what was wrong and even took the time to explain things most doctors don't.

Actually, Dr.Jain kids started 32 Degrees and he has nothing to do with it. Maybe, you should give the establishment a try and get your facts straight. In terms of hating on doctors why don't you try and go to medical school for 12+ years.

No I am not going to print my name but I am sure someone much smarter than me with computers could easily find out if they wanted to. And yes we really did have grounds for a winable law-suit. Dr. Samuel sucks. My mother had cut her finger on a glass table. He had a NP come in and stitch it up. He didn't even look at it but for a minute. She had hardly any use of the finger once it healed. She had cut a tendon. But Samuel didn't bother to see if that happened. He's loud as hell, basically feels like he's yelling at you when you are not even a foot away from him and has misdiagnosed a ton of people in this town. CRMC must keep him there so they aren't deemed as racists. If I go to that ER and he comes in, I will walk the hell out. He can't spell medical conditions correctly either.
