Has anyone seen the new Atkins frozen meals at Walmart? The Atkins store locator says they should carry them, but I've looked several times without success. Am I just overlooking them? If anyone has found them (at any grocery store), please point me in the right direction.

The goal of a diet is to become a permanent lifestyle change. You can't do that with the Atkins diet because without carbs, you'd die eventually.

Thanks for the info! Do you remember what other meals they are near? Are they with the Lean Cuisine type stuff or in a separate display somewhere? I keep thinking I must just be overlooking them when I stare at the wall of frozen food.

Atkins isn't a NO CARB diet it is a LOW carb diet. Huge difference ! It is a lifestyle that I have been following for years. I have a great cholesterol level and am fit. I eat HEALTHY carbs. |

A diet that promotes a reduction in the intake of carbs to the point that it poses a serious health risk if maintained for any length of time may as well be 'no-carb.' We see people with Atkins-related health problems all the time in the health field. The metabolic acidosis triggered by prolonged adherence to this particular diet even has an official name: Atkins Acidosis. If you're looking to lose weight and get healthier, I would recommend ditching all diets and start researching wholesome, nutritious recipes that are prepared with fresh fruits and vegetables and lean meats. The health department has a nutritionist that you can see for cheap or free depending on your income who can tailor an easy to follow plan that is specific to your needs. There are also websites (livestrong, and others) than let users develop their own diet plans. Of course a human nutritionist is the better option but I realize that they aren't convenient for everybody. |

Atkins is a scam. Its a dangerous way to lose weight. Large amounts of fats and sodium and lack of nutrients resulting from using the Atkins scam is not healthy. Atkins himself was fat and out of shape and died at age 72 from a simple fall--not exactly a great endorsement for his products and diet plan.

If you wanna git skinny swap out two meals a day for 2 pots of coffee and a carton of cigarettes. For snacks try chewing your finger and or toenails and remember if you cheat you can throw it up ...

What a stupid commrent. Try doing your homework before commenting. There are stages of Atkins that include healthy low carbs. You do realize the diet is decades old and a lifestyle for a lot of healthy people. |

...so? There are plenty of diets that have been around longer than that. The tapeworm diet has been around for over a hundred years. Horse jockeys and socialites used to swear by it. Carbs are not bad. Fat is not bad. Cholesterol is not bad. Being a professional couch surfer and pie hole stuffer is bad. Any diet that claims otherwise is a scam that is not based in science. That's not an opinion. |

You are misunderstanding the Atkins Plan. You go though phases At first you have somewhere about 20 carb grams a day for 2 -4 weeks. After the 1st Phase, you gradually add more good carbs on in 5 carb increments as long as you are still losing. Once you've reached your desired weight you go to Phase 3. Now you know your carb limit for the day to maintain that desired weight. I may be off a bit, but there are many sites that will explain it better. You never go completely carb free. |
