This "event" is under the guise as a fun for all event. I am here to make people of Cookeville and Putnam County AWARE that this is a festival to promote tolerance and acceptance of homosexuality in the county and surrounding towns in our rural community.

It lists "Children's Activities and Crafts" as a way to lure our young children out to this awful event. We are working on an organized picket against this type of thing happening here. Once I find out what the protest ordinances are in Cookeville or if any even exist, we will work together to organize a meeting spot and come together as a community to say that this type of thing is WRONG! Do you want your children finger painting with a man that is dressed up as a woman? I know I DO NOT!

The organizers of this event are posting in major metropolitan cities to get homosexuals from all over Tennessee to show up here. It is rumored that the woman who concocted this whole sinful event has ties to the PBS station here in Cookeville and plans to make this viewable via local public access television broadcasting. They are also trying to say that it will boost Cookeville's economy for the short time that the homosexuals stay in Cookeville.

Get picket signs ready to get the message across to these people that a public display of homosexuality is WRONG and immoral! Let's exercise our First Amendment Right to PROTEST! We need to stand up to keep our lovely little town clean and oriented toward STRAIGHT families! In the Bible, it was Adam and Eve. NOT Adam and Steve!

More reference material on the homosexual gathering at the new Dogwood Park here in Cookeville and the local businesses that are sponsoring this immoral and unnatural event are viewable via the Facebook link below this post to see the information I have provided you with is truthful and accurate. I ask that you please do not harass the person(s) that created this abomination of a Facebook page as you could be held in violation of the Facebook Terms of Service agreement.

I will provide more information to those that care to participate in a nonviolent, peaceful, and organized protest and aren't shy to show that you think HOMOSEXUALITY IS WRONG once the city ordinances are defined so no laws are broken by a peaceful protest. Feel free to express your ideas and/or interest in protesting Thank you and God bless the heterosexual citizens of Putnam County!

Oh look, yet another closed minded, judgemental bigot that more than likely creeps around under the guise of a "Christian". Find a hobby and stay out of other peoples lives. I am not gay but i have several friends that are and it's their business, not yours. If you want to spread the hate and intolerance and closed mindedness then stick with your own redneck kind. Who are you to infringe on the rights of others. Lets see where we should go with this one... Should it be John 8:7 "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone". or should we stick with the tenant...luke 6:37 "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven."(and im not even a christian). For goodness sake, give it a rest and let others enjoy their lives as you want to be allowed to enjoy yours. Moron.

Now you see you said it right there in your post...it's their business, good then let them keep their business out of a public park where people like to go and not watch gay people hang out with each other .

UMmmm, public means multipurpose, undiscriminating, and open to anyone for any reason. If it was a Jesus pride fest, i'd have to deal with it and trust me, i'm not a fan. However, its your right.Even tho i don't agree with it, i'd fight to defend your right to have it. If you don't want to see it, then don't go. its just as simple as that. Don't take away the rights of people you don't agree with because one day it's your rights that could be in danger. This is America, not Nazi Germany.

im not saying they dont have a right to do anything. all im saying is a public park is not the right place. and right if i dont want to see it dont go .but then that stops me or anyone else from going to a public park.they have every right to do what they want but it should not be in a public park that ither people might want to go to and not want to be around that type of lifestyle. and i wouldnt be there for a jesus pride fest i know what the bible says about gays and really dont care. they can be gay all day and night does not matter to me but it shouldnt be in a public park for this event

I respectfully disagree. They too are the public. The parks are used for many thing that others don't want to be a part of. Their rights are no different. There are 364 more days for it to be used for other things. I moved to this town a long time ago and in that time i've moved to several other places big and small. That is what parks are used for. Protests, festivals, vigils, bake sales, concerts...etc. The gay community has as much right to it as everyone else, whether the community at large agrees or disagrees. their taxes also pay for the parks and upkeep. I believe all they are doing is trying to spread a little open mindedness and awareness in the community. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree as the saying goes

"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment" (John 7:24)....Note the command TO judge and HOW.

Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)......Note the warning along with the mesage...BE NOT DECEIVED.

There is also the command to "rightly divide the Word", that is if you choose to quote (misquote) the Scripture.

Still doesn't change the fact that Jesus himself never uttered a mention about gay people.

LOL, First of all, I most certainly didn't misquote a thing. The versus were taken out of the bible(King James"version"). I love however, how christian's will bend and twist and dictate how something is or isn't written to further their agenda. This is most certainly NOT a Christian subject all and all. Its a civil rights and freedom issue. No matter how you try to muddy the water with your supposed spiritual superiority(whatta crock) You have no right to judge how someone else chooses to live their lives. This holier then thou attitude is crass and disgusting and is doing nothing but aiding the decay of the Christian church.(not that its a bad thing since its populated by ignorant, misguided souls who have nothing better to do then impose their personal morality on others). What should be done is have a live and let live attitude and tend to your own "house" before waltzing into someone else's(where you certainly don't belong)

Come on, Lindsey. Give it a rest. This will only bring out the freaks, and our kids don't need to see that.

Sorry, Chris. My bad.

And because I don't want my kids surrounded by freaks, that makes me a bad parent? Guess I'm in the majority here, pal.

Really?

You're only using a pic with her kid in it. It's not that big of a stretch, genius.

I think the fact that you are calling someone a freak does make you a bad parent and the fact that you are instilling this into your children that just because someone is gay they are a freak - that shows that you are promoting hatred and that is not ok.

Why does it bother you so much that someone is different? Why does it matter if someone is happy with someone of the same sex?

Why would you allow hatred into your life over something that doesn't affect you in any way? Why would you teach that to your children?

Love and acceptance is something that is taught and I would never in a million years tell my children to not accept someone because they have different beliefs then I do, it is part of living in America and having freedom of speech.

If you are that close minded to what is going on all over the world, then I feel sorry for you!

IF theres is no higher authourity than man, then I pose that ANY mans morals should be accepted as valid. Love and acceptance would not have any higher position than "hatred" and "unacceptance". Therefore, IF, this person hates or is unaccepting (according to man, you) then that should be OK.

I suggest these two, well, at least love, is primary Biblically based and most often poluted with the notion that love must include accepting most any behaviour, if not, then you don't love. If one choses to use the Bible AND the themes of the Bible (love and acceptance), then it should be on IT'S terms no mans. Using only "concepts" of the Bible and not respecting the complete testement is hypocritifcal of the sectarian and sinful for the Christian.

As a "man", I don't have to love or accept anything I find to be freakish.Thats as the homosexual groups would say, "is my business". As a Christian, I should be loving and caring enough to have influence on another to turn then from condeming behaviour....hoping he would move himself into a position of acceptance (of God). BTW the this attitude is something a Christian will be judged on.It's not a pass to comdemn others or to be cruel, but bad news is not pleasant.

Hilarious that I'm closed minded because my opinion differs from yours.

I didn't say that I hated gays. Nope. I just said that I didn't want my kids around freaks. And they always accompany these types of events. Because it can never be kept to normal dressed people having a good time. It always includes those who think that dressing in the other gender's clothing is "making a statement". Well, they're right. It makes them look stupid! The freak show is what I want my kids to avoid.

But I find it funny that your as closed minded as you claim to be, since you're condemning me for not believing the same way you do.:)

And Lindsey, it doesn't matter who I am. If Chris is trying to maintain secrecy about his identity, then he should be smarter than to use his own pic. And especially don't make a stupid comment once someone figures it might have been you instead, since your kid is in the pic!.

Gee, wonder where I "pulled that out of"? Not too bright.

But stick to the issue at hand. His faux pas is old news.

There's nothing wrong with it being in a public park. There are parades in the larger cities and they have to close off a large street... Every citizen has the right to use their public spaces.

Good luck in thinking you freaks are going to have an entire street closed off for a transvestite parade. This is Cookeville, not San Francisco. Thank the lord that you kooks only got 3 hours to convince Cookeville that you freaks should be accepted. I am sure you'll be there, tucking your junk in between your legs.
