I have dealt with many car dealers in my life, but I have never dealt with one with such poor service as Heritage Ford, Lincoln, Mercury. They tell me things that they are going to do for me, but do not follow through. When you call them to get things straightened out, everyone tells you different things, and no one does what they say they will! I love my new vehicle, but I would reccommend not shopping there if you appreciate good service!

I had dealings with them several years ago and they lied about almost every detail regarding the car and the transaction. Once I was put in a rental vehicle so repairs couldbe made and they called and said to return the rental because it had been promised to someone else. I took it back immediatly and they placed me in another rental car. That night on the news I saw where the first rental vehicle(the one they said I needed to return because it was promised to someone else)had been recalled because of some problem that could cause the car to catch fire. My thought was what if I had been hurt returning that car? They should have told me the truth and come to pick it up themselves. They are lairs all around. I believe they lie to the banks who finance the car because the bank mine was financed through was told I was employed in a field I have never worked in and by a fictitious company. They will tell you anything and do anything to move a car or truck from the lot. All those commercials on the radio chanting "go America" and the owner is a foreigner who is not understandable when you try to talk with him on the phone. He may do that on purpose though.

I am still having problems with Heritage Ford. Each person you talk to tells you something different. The thing that bothers me the most is, they all try to act like everything is your fault! When you call, most of them are VERY RUDE!!! I will NEVER deal with them again!!!!! I suggest that no one else deal with them either!

OMG...I saw your comments and just have to tell y'all what I saw today. I saw a newer F-150 today at walmart and it caught my eye because it had writing all over the windows. When I got closer I read what it said. It said, "I got this truck from Heritage Ford. They said it wasn't wrecked, but Car-Fax said it was." What do you think about that? I think if a vehicle has been wrecked it should be a law that the dealer has to tell you.

I think in some states they do have to disclose such information but I don't think Tennessee is one of them. I know in Kentucky they MUST tell you if the vehicle has ever had water damage at all (i.e. flood, hurricane etc.)but i don't think TN even requires that. I bought a new vehicle for Heritage in 1992. That was the last business i did with them but i was satisfied with the service way back then. What you all are describing here is a growing problem with many dealers (not all) due to sales being down because of the economys state right now. They will do anything to sell vehicles at a time like this. Remember the deal with Bill Heard a few years ago in nashville? That was so bad they actually sold the dealership. I worked for a Mazda dealer in Nashville at one time in the 1990's. The owner of that place is still in prison over some of the stuff he got caught in. All i can say is Beware of all of them and do some research on them before you lay your money down.

I am mainly saying, when they get their money at Heritage Ford, they are DONE being nice!! They do not care anything about trying to make you happy. They are taking forever sending the title to me, which can be understandable, but the thing that bothers me the most is their attitudes!!! Mike Dickerson told me the other day that I was just wanting to argue!! No, I was wanting to get the title that they told me I would receive BEFORE my temporary tags ran out!! Here in Kentucky, the bank does not keep the title but they get what is called a Golden Rod, after you get your registration. The bank is on my back, and it is all because of Heritage Ford!!!! Today I am driving with expired tags, which could have been avoided! They said I could come down there and they would make me a new one but, that is 75 miles away! I can't afford to!!!

I've purchased several vehicles from them. My biggest complaint on them is warranty service and repair work in general. They always have a hard time working you into THEIR schedule...the hell with yours.
Had a door handle come off one time...they told me that was a 2 day job. A buddy who has a garage told me I could fix it myself in 10 minutes...i got the part and did. Another time a trunk hatch strut snapped...another 2 or 3 day job...i got the part...and fixed it in 30 minutes.

We have bought 2 vehicles from them and happily so have had no problems with them. They have always fixed what was broken, done what they promised. My only issue is the wait while they repair...it can take forever.

I have had good and bad with them, I do not trust the owner. They talk to people like they are stupid. But they are not the only ones in Cookeville like this. I and several others have had to file suit against Steve Garrett (he currently owns Kia and GM in Cookeville and he did own Nissan and partner with Toyota). He likes to sell salvaged autos as never been damaged and then when you find out when you get the rebuild title he says you were told and you signed the document about it, but he does not have the document. He is a con man.

Heritage Ford sold me a car that had been wrecked and acted like they knew nothing about it. The owner wouldn't talk to me and his little lacky acted as if I was the one at fault. Once they get your money they don't care if the car blows up and kills you as long as you make it off their lot.

heritage ford sucks -that is true. the service department is the worst.the service guys are smart asses and cant fix anything(or they just dont want to) my new vehicle with 14000 miles on it vibrates like hell but they will not fix it. edd rodgers ford and their service woman that works on the counter is not much better.

I spoke with someone a while back who says they bought a car and not long after driving it off the lot it began having problems. The car was sold without a drop of oil in it.

I've bought from Heritage and Crossville ford both. Had great dealings with Crossville, and got bent over at heritage. The service guy, Zane, at Heritage lied to me everytime I went in for service.

I had a very bad experience but it was with Honda's In cookeville. My new civic was getting close to 40mpg for several months. Then all of a sudden it was only getting like 23.And when you were on a hill (going down it) it would want to dieit would choke up and almost die. Anyway
I called and told the service manager about this.
He wasn't nice at all.He told me to bring my car in and fill it up with gas before i got there and they would drive it from there to byrdstown bridge to check the mileage.I told them I know what it get's I've checked it.But I let them take my car for the day. They said it was getting more than I had told them but they wasn't driving it in town stopping and starting. They got on 111 and had a good road.Anyway they didn't do anything to it.The service manager was very very rude to me.
My husband was putting gas in my car and a guy said you got a good car there. My husband said yeah it was until the mileage thing. He said oh well I can tell you what it is.He was a mechanic and he said he had replaced lots of that part.I can't remember what it was now.But I called and told the service manager. He said we can't just start replacing things on your car.I said well I want it fixed. He said it didn't show anything on the computer.I said well there is something wrong with it.They never fixed it.There was one saleman that was so rude to me.I think he may work at Ford's now but I'm not sure. That was my first honda and my last.I will never deal with them again.I traded it and now I get great service!
anyway that's my story.

They had a crooked salesman there who sold my son a vehicle he could not afford with a jacked up price. He lost his job and it took them 10 months to reposess it. Then when it was sold my son still owed !0,000.00. I guess the high price was to pay for the salesmans drugs since he got busted right after that. How dare them rip of kids to pay for their habits. He should have been the one to have paid the 10,000.00 overpriced dollars. He was a damn thief and Heritage Ford should have to pay back every one who bought something from him.

I purchased my car from Heritage Ford in Feb. 2006...in April of this year I took it back for some repairs, they gave me a 08 Taurus to drive until they got my 06 Fusion fixed. I purchased the extended warranty and I was out the $100. deductible. They called me a week later to make sure everything was going ok...I have always been pleased with Zane and the maintenance crew! I loved my sales rep...and I have been happy with my purchase from Heritage Ford!

I have always had a Honda & they are great vehicles but i will have to agree with you about the salesman @ Honda....not to great. When you were talking about the service manager ....which one did you talk to? There are different people in that department but I think Chris Hammock is the service manager @ Honda & he is the best around & you won't find anyone better than him! You must have delt with one of the other guys.

I have never had any trouble with Heritage Ford. I bought a used '97 Mercury Marquis from them and have had no trouble with it at all. Whenever I take it in for service or repair, they are always courteous and helpful. I normally do not leave my car with them but wait for it, especially if the service or repair is minor and they have the parts in stock.
