"Hope to make $75,000 profit from the appearance"

This event will tell us if we have a small number of boneheads in Putnam County (I.e., the Fair Board) or a large number of boneheads (I.e., people willing to spend $30 each to attend this "event")

They wanna spend $30,000 bringing this dude to the fair when they could spend $30,000 (or less, considering they usually don't charge a damn thing except ticket sales) booking Wade Shows or Amusements of America to work the midway instead of some rinky dink company with 12 rides.

I'm available!!! I may not be as smart as this guy, but can he shoot a moose from a fast moving helicopter? Now that's family entertainment. Throw in some pageant walking and a "real" American speech and this could be a fair to remember.

I think they are making a great choice bringing uncle si to cookeville tn. There is a lot of people out there who will pay the money to see him and this will be a good money maker for the county.

Why do they think that 5000+ will show up and pay $30 for this? Did they do any market research beyond " a lot of people said they would go"?

They'll be lucky if they can even get 5000 people through the gates, let alone 5000 people to pay $30 to see this guy. The Putnam County Fair has been killed. The midway sucks. The agriculture competitions have barely any entries because everybody goes to Wilson County now.

I demand that everybody on the fair board be relieved of their positions and replaced by people who know what the hell they're doing. They won't be getting a dime of my money until they can prove that they actually give a damn.

I am thinking a good womens mud wrestling should bring in some dollars paying horn-dogs.
it would also be somewhat low cost too.

The $30,000 will just be the beginning of the expenses. You will need extra officers for traffic control and more parking. Those monster trucks take up a lot of room. Every redneck and hillbilly in the UC who has TV or radio will be there!

What exactly will he do to entertain? Regale us with stories of Vietnam, skin a squirrel? The article didn't say much of anything except he may get on stage with some of the radio personalities. Whoo hoo! That is worth $30? I can't believe he gets 29k for an appearance and first class flight tickets not just for himself but his wife also. Big mistake. Money will be lost.

Today I heard some locals saying that not just this guy would be there but others from the moonshine show! Then others in the room got really excited, wow, real moonshiners! Just look around and see all those you want rednecks.

I can't believe anyone would watch those stupid made up 'reality' shows. But then again a lot of people I know did vote for Romney! Good choice people of the fair board, maybe get Romney too and Sarah said she would cum!

I like that, not the car type. If its a drag in night-gown and a lesbian mud-wrestling it would be even better.

I think the fair board messed up when they stopped having the motorcycle races and 4 wheeler races everytime I was there in years past the place was always packed. My son and ex husband rode in the races in years past. I didn't even waste my time or money going to the putnam county fair last year. The one out on Hwy 111 where the 111 Flea Market is held isn't as big but they do have the races there!! I don't care if they were handing out free everything just to get people to aattend the PCF every night of the week, I WON'T BE BACK!!

Agreed. THey said in the latest article in the paper that " People wanted him" As if the entirity of Putnam will be so disappointed or something. I think it's the most stupid thing I've ever heard of. Why is it they are willing to spend obscene amounts of money of crap like this but can't give us the derby back?
