Are CULT Conventions Receiving FUNDING?

As expected, the Jehovah's Witnesses at the HERALD-CITIZEN newspaper just gave the "middle finger" to Cookeville and Putnam County TAXPAYERS by publishing another article PROMOTING the ongoing WATCHTOWER CULT CONVENTIONS --- all while refusing to publish exactly HOW MUCH FINANCIALLY FUNDING is being given to WATCHTOWER CULT HEADQUATERS in exchange for the Cult choosing to locate these "District Conventions" in Cookeville.

Today's HERALD-CITIZEN article TWICE uses the word "ASSIST", but then REFUSES to provide any SPECIFICS regarding such "assistance" to these WATCHTOWER CULT conventions.

In fact, today's HERALD-CITIZEN article appears to TEASE and even TAUNT the very readers that the HERALD-CITIZEN knows will be reading this article to see if the terms of the deal struck with the CULT by local politicians will be disclosed.

The first time the HERALD-CITIZEN uses the word "assist", the article states: "The Chamber and CVB have been able to ASSIST a wide-range of statewide events." Notice that the CULT is not mentioned specifically -- just implied.

Next, Laura Canada, Executive Director of the Cookeville-Putnam County Convention and Visitors Bureau is quoted as stating: "Any time we can ASSIST in bringing in large groups or conventions to our county,...."

This slight-of-hand, Clintonesque "word game" allows local politicians to CLAIM that local TAXPAYERS have been informed that the CULT is receiving FUNDING without actually disclosing the exact terms of the DEAL.

As an even bolder "middle finger" to critics of FUNDING of these Cult Conventions, this HERALD-CITIZEN article even features a photograph of the Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Chamber CEO, along with several WATCHTOWER CULT OFFICIALS meeting at the Convention site with a Tennessee Tech official who just so happens to be the Vice President for Planning & Finance.

Was this meeting actually a CHECK-PASSING CEREMONY that the HERALD-CITIZEN has failed to identify as such, and further failed to disclose the specifics?

If so, local VOTERS and TAXPAYERS, as well as Herald-Citizen ADVERTISERS and SUBSCRIBERS should be outraged if such a CONSPIRACY is being attempted.

Bull O Nee!!
Churches all over the US receive funding daily, what with their tax exempt status!

Oh, by the way, I wonder how much money the convention brought to Cookeville. They had to eat, have a place to stay, etc. I am pretty sure what we received in sales tax alone was a pretty good amount.

Try thinking instead of just trying to start crap up.

Well actually all cults (aka religious sects) receive tax free status from the IRS. So in a way they're all getting funded.

What percentage of Cookeville and Putnam County VOTERS and TAXPAYERS will see one dollar from these CULT Conventions?

How many "local" motels and restaurants are actually owned by Corps outside of Cookeville?

Of course, there will be some local benefit. Noone is arguing that point. The point is whether local TAXPAYERS want to provide their own FUNDING for the Jehovah's Witnesses to hold these CULT Conventions in Cookeville?

Local citizens whose moral yardsick is the "Almighty Dollar" are free to embrace the WATCHTOWER CULT. I even would suggest that they attend parts of this Cult Convention, and even DONATE $20,$50, or even $100 to their NEW FRIENDS -- BUT, OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKETS.

For those Cookeville and Putnam County residents who do NOT worship the "Almighty Dollar", let me remind them about the BELIEFS and PRACTICES of these NEW FRIENDS of Mayor Matt Swallows, Vice Mayor Larry Epps, George Halford, and Laura Canada.

In the mid 1930s, the Watch Tower Society started forbidding Jehovah's Witnesses to salute the American Flag, or recite the Pledge Of Allegiance, or stand for the playing of the National Anthem, or engage in any other patriotic activity.

Jehovah's Witnesses were taught to tell the news media, courts, and other outsiders that the American Flag is a false idol, and doing any of the aforementioned activities is performing "worship" to a false idol. This "public relations" reasoning is actually the LEAST of all the reasons that Jehovah's Witnesses refuse to engage in any patriotic or political activities.

This secondary, ancillary reasoning was developed because the WatchTower Society did not dare to have its Jehovah's Witness members running around repeating for the news media and courtroom judges the PRIMARY doctrine on this subject, which would outrage the American public.

What Jehovah's Witnesses intentionally do NOT publically explain to non-JWs is that the Watch Tower Society teaches Jehovah's Witnesses that the Government of the United States is governing ILLEGITIMATELY.

The Watch Tower Society teaches that the Government of the United States is under the control of Satan the Devil as his partner in Satan's universal rebellion against GOD.

The Watch Tower Society teaches that GOD granted humans the authority to rule the earth only for a period of 2520 years -- starting in 607 B.C. and ending in October, 1914 A.D.  The Watch Tower Society teaches that in October, 1914, the authority to rule the earth reverted back to GOD, and that He then formed a heavenly government to rule the earth.

The Watch Tower Society teaches that in 1919 that Jesus Christ selected the Watch Tower Society as his sole earthly representative of that heavenly government.  The Watch Tower Society teaches that the Government of the United States (as well as all other governments), is its' enemy, because it has failed to surrender governmental power that rightfully belongs to the Watch Tower Society.

These are the ACTUAL reasons that the Watch Tower Society forbids its Jehovah's Witness members to support the government of the United States -- no voting, no holding political office, no professing citizen loyalty via the Pledge of Allegiance or standing for the National Anthem, no joining the military to protect the United States, etc.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not profess to be "pacifists".  They claim to be "neutrals".  JWs consider themselves to be "citizens" of the government supposedly formed in heaven in 1919, and that they are only "resident aliens" of the United States.

The Watch Tower Society teaches that Armageddon will occur "soon", and at the Battle of Armageddon, that Jesus Christ and his heavenly armies will destroy the armies and governments of the United States, and of all other countries -- including all people who did not convert to the Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses look forward to the day when they will rule the planet.

All religions are cults. The government should have never gave ANY of them tax exempt status. Even scientology is tax exempt. What a bunch of crap.

For those Cookeville and Putnam County residents who do NOT worship the "Almighty Dollar" ...
Hey dude, lay off the "Almighty Dollar"! It pays my rent, feeds my childrens, and keeps my fridge well stocked with Budweiser. And it's got the father of our country (Georgey baby) on the front.

What the bible says, and what they are taught, governments love them, because they pay their taxes…..
Mathew 22:17-22
New International Version (NIV)
17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"
18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, "You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me?
19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax." They brought him a denarius,
20 and he asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?"
21 "Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."
22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.
And as for patriotism….as a Marine, your taught GOD, Country, then Corps, in that order…..they just have their priorities straight.
As for the Almighty Dollar, don’t put any money in the collection plate, and see how long it takes your pastor to say something….heck the Catholic and Mormon churches send bills, and offer payroll deductions.
Sundays paper read, that they will have spent between $3-$5 Million Dollars in the community, be that helps the school system, the police force, and not to mention Tennessee Tech Univeristy.
Educate yourself,
King James Version (KJV)
20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise : but a companion of fools shall be destroyed
