I'm new to the area and am looking for a church. Denomination does not concern me, but I like great music and a strong young adult congregation. Any suggestions??

The River is a good one. They have decent music and they are probably the least judgmental group I know of.

There are several good churches around here. Stevens Street & Poplar Grove but you should swap around to the different churches until you find the right one! Ask God to speak to your heart and lead you to the right church.

First Baptist will give you a warm welcome. Awesome music, good conservative congregation. The poster above has it right -- let the Holy Spirit guide you!

I agree with Poplar Grove. They are so friendly, the music is great, and there is definitely a large group of young adults.

Church of the FSM is probably the best. Large community of smart, intellectual people who gather to discuss life. Highly recommended for the younger generation.

Stevens Street Baptist is a great church to attend. A larger church with several growing young adult classes for both single and married. Services are 9 & 10:30 on Sunday mornings, and 6:00 that night. Look forward to seeing you!

Nice comment, if you disagree with what a church does.....fine.

Comments like this only show your failure to grasp reality and your obsession with scare tactics.

If you truly believe in this statement, and not just stirring the pot like the usual ignorant, then what do you base it on.

Name the church who asked you for money. Step up or shut up!

Fyi are u serious? Every church you go to passes the collection plate. You go see a tV preacher in a huge auditorium and they pass the collection plate. Tax free every cent too.

Fyi Most churches want you to sigh a pledge that you will give so much. All expect 10%. some of the country churches don't say much about it. Most would take you last dollar if you give it. Now I'll shut up.You prove me wrong or say on more.

I won't sign one of those. I did once and it was awful when I skipped one pledge (father died and I helped my mother financially). They just wouldn't leave me alone. Not all are like that, but it made an impression on me.
