if you are from michigan and miss those great coneys from up there go to the dog house on cedar street ... place is awesome ! i eat there once a month , the place is decorated in michigan stuff plates , sports teams and they see faygo ! now this place is pricey 2 coneys and frie with fountain drink about 8-10 dollars reason its like than is because the dogs and chili is shipped from michigan, they don't sell those hot dogs down here like that ...for me it's worth the price just a taste and memories of those great coneys feels like you right in the MI , a man was selling detroit style coneys via a cart he must not know what detroit style coneys are cause what he was selling was not it he is now outta business

Ate there one time...expensive and smelled very weird. Old grease hanging in air...wasn't worth price at all!

Been there a few times. Couldn't tell those hotdogs apart from any other. I like the place when I want a hotdog but it is just a hotdog and doesn't take me back to the MI or Chicago. Just takes me back to the grocery store. lol!

I ate there about a year ago and it was just too expensive for a hot dog. I never went back because of that.

I have eaten at Boomer's in Algood many times. I first went because a friend told me about the GREAT red onion sauce and it is great! I recently went back there with a couple of friends after I heard the shop mentioned on the radio. I am sure it was the country giant. I heard the announcement where Boomer's and Bilmar's Station and the Algood Diner were all part of a HUGE event at the Veteran's Barber Shop for the 278th before they deployed a couple weeks ago. I went by the barber shop after work and the event was over but I will go by there for a haircut some time. It was nic of Boomer's to feed OUR TROOPS that day with those other guys! The last time I went to Boomer's I had a ruben and it was very good and fresh! Thanks to Boomer's and Veteran's Barber Shop for giving our troops support!

It's not so much the hot dog itself but the dog with that style of chili along with the onions and mustard. That is what makes a true Detroit Style Coney. The hot dogs are beef, not pork like New York Coney Dogs.

I think they are pretty good. Onion rings are good too. You can get an original coney dog (house dog), fries and a bottle of faygo (Detroit soda pop) for $5 or a little under.

The dog house had good food, I only say good because I have not been there for sometime! Only thing I will say is it does not remind me of the coney island's in Michigan. But I will get back in there sooner or later and get me a chili cheese dog and onion rings!
