Having been a former employee of the HC i can tell you first hand that at least 50% of the workers are JW, And oddly enough, most of the paper carriers are as well. Mostly all good people, but i am not surprised to see a biased article promoting their internal religion of choice. Boy wouldn't it be nice to have a totally unbiased news outlet that just portrayed facts?
Dought it would happen... People either hate or like jws...

I think that when Christ comes he will put us, The Witness in charge and we will rain the earth. We will be the rulers of men (and women). I hope you can accept this, it is written.

Smart local taxpayers will realise that the REASON local officials are so keen to attract Jehovah's Witnesses conventions is because the thousands of visitors they attract bring a great deal of money into the area which eases the local tax burden.
Moreover the thousands of visitors are all very well behaved Christians so there is no downside to their gathering.
The above poster doesn't care about "local taxpayers" he is simply trying to use scare tactics to further his personal religious agenda.
Make no mistake, the whole REASON cities encourage Jehovah's Witnesses to hold their conventions with them is the large amount of money that it bring to the people of that area.
Tax payers should be GLAD for all that extra income from decent law abiding Christian visitors!
So that's how the wtbts rationalizes paying their fair share of taxes! Seems like it still comes out of the members wallet. Iv'e got to hand it to them (wtbts) they're slick!

Remember when they gave out the leaflet talking about Daniel's vision and they had the statue on the cover with a huge question mark pointing to the feet? We made sure to put that tract in every house and apartment within a 50 mile radius because we thought this must be a huge announcement/pronouncement.

Even though I was interested to see what new slant was gonna be put on it because I understood that the feet was Rome and there really isn't any dual fulfillment for our day. We now live in the 8th world power - China which negates the entire thing.

Turns out there was nothing special at all about the feet. Just that they drew the rock closer to it I guess to say "watch out, it's right around the corner now!". 14,25,75.

That was the last assembly I went to before I started doing serious personal biblical analysis on my own without anyone telling me what to think, believe, or interpret. I took out the reasoning book and every time I saw "..." I looked up the entire quotation. They had no business using those partial quotes knowing that the original source didn't comply or support the point they were making.

For a quick example: Go to the reasoning book and look up the Cross. Then where ever you see "..." go online and print the entire page of the source material. Read it.

I didn't realize that being no part of the world was so important that we literally had to make stuff up to set us apart from virtually every other major teaching in Christendom.

OK, let's wrap this all up.

JW's are a CULT because they deny most of the historic orthodox teachings of the Christian church and God's Word, the Bible.

One example is that they teach that Jesus Christ is not God. They are emphatic on that.

This alone should make any Bible-believing Christian realize that they are not Christians and they follow a group of extremely wealthy leaders (the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society) in Brooklyn, who've made numerous FALSE PROPHECIES about the end of the world, etc.

These people are not Christians and are following false doctrine that, sadly, leads only to destruction.

As to their convention, we still have some religious freedoms left in this country and they will spend a bit of money in this area. Any possibility of payments made to them to attract them here needs to be investigated and the light shone upon it for the benefit of the poor taxpayers who are routinely soaked by our public officials.

But beyond that, let 'em have their convention here. If you see one, try and share the true one and only gospel of Jesus Christ with him.

Pray for wisdom and for the light of truth to shine upon the darkness of satan's lies!!

Since God's word the Bible is suppose to be the authority for all Christians to follow or obey, why don't you show the Scripture that proves Jesus is God, and not the only begotten son of God.
That he is the only son of God means he was the only angelic son created by God.
Please use a legal translation of the Bible, and not a paraphrased
that has been written by Trinitarians.

Poor poor misguided fools.
There is NO god. Nobody has every shown a single shred of evidence to support this. Google Bible contradictions and you'll see how much bullsh!t it is.

So what are you doing here? Trying to convince yourself?

Anyone can deliberately read the Bible in such a way as to cause contradictions. But the AMAZING thing about the Bible is that it can be read in such a way that NO contradictions exist.

So there is no proof of any contradictions. Furthermore it is a miracle that a non-contradictory understanding is possible with a book written over thousands of years.
