same parent company...the thought was that people might associate puelo's w/ mexican food so they changed the name....not that Blue Plate Cafe is any better in conveying the type food they serve but nobody asked me. lol

And not too original either. If you do a search online you find several "Blue Plate Cafe's" in Tn and surrounding areas.

The grille and blue plate grille are not the same. Blue Plate was a concept restaurant. Puleos pulled out of that building for not profiting. They brought blue plate grille here because the people in this town thought Puleos was expensive when they werent and chose a cheaper version such as Cheddars to give the patronage to. The food at puleo's was amazing when they had a great kitchen manager but went down towards the end. But Blue Plate is supposed to be a different menu all together and I dont believe the recipes came from Steve Puleo. But I could be wrong.

In yesterday's Sunday paper there was a big article and they printed some of the menu. It's the same owners' with pretty much the same menu but also some new stuff. Guess we'll have to wait and see how it goes.

Cookeville needs another place to eat. I can't hardly find any place to eat when I come to town.

Isn't that the truth! I drive around looking for a place that's not full on the weekends other then Burger King, it takes me at least 30 minutes to find one I can get into.

I will miss their Fried Green Tomatoes--Oh so good! Also the BLT with Fried Green Tomatoes. I do not see either on their menu. I hope Cookeville people will frequent the new restaurant. Cheddars is nice but does not compare to Puleo's fresh tasting food. Change is good some time. Great wait staff at Puleo's. Sure hope many return to Blue Plate.

Not a lot of choices. If you want to go to the same places over and over again it fine. We really need something new though.
