I attended the funeral of Donna Johnson today and was saddened by the fact that Donna had worked for the Putnam Co. Sheriff's Dept. for almost 20 yrs. and only 4 to 5 employees from the Dept. was there to show their respect. I realize Donna made a mistake but are there not others within the Dept. who have the same problem. Rest In Peace Donna. You were a good hearted woman.

Did you want them to be hypocrits? Maybe they didn't respect her. I did not know her. You mention one mistake. There are reasons people do what they do or don't do other than the what appears to be the obvious.

In the past 2 years, there have been several Putnam County Officers fired from their jobs for different reasons. One for shooting at another officer, one for writing bad checks, one for beating his wife and so on. There was even an officer fired for his choice in voting. What I am trying to say is...We are all human, We make mistakes, whether we work in a bank or wear a badge. We are not here to judge, that is left to a higher power. In my opinion, it seems like once you are relieved of your duties with the P C S O, you are NOTHING. All the years of dedicated service.....GONE. So you go to your job every day and give your 100 percent. And if by chance, you should lose your position, PLEASE EXPECT NOTHING IN RETURN...for your devotion.

Here's another shit stirring thread to ridicule a defenseless deceased woman. Y'all are pitiful. Who cares. the ppl she loved and that loved her most were in attendance. Including myself. Do you think all the ppl you work with will show up when you pass away. Probably not. Let her rest in peace and leave it alone. She was a great woman, mother, sister, aunt, daugh ter, and friend.

Yea and if she made a mistake ok. So many ppl make mistakes everyday. This thread was intentionally put on here to cause ppl to react negatively. Its sad all these ppl have nothing better to do than hurt innocent ppl. She made a mistake yes. And she paid for it. She was a great lady and I honestly believe everyone has demons, but that doesnt make a person bad. My mother passed away 6yrs ago with cancer and I was only 21, Donna and my mother were friends and I was friend with her niece, Donna was very good to me and made me smile always. She just got put into the ground yesterday and already there's bullshit behind her passing. Her family is grieving and already miss her dearly so please stop. If you see her family and wanna bring up this bs go ahead. I guarantee you the outcome will not be nice

I don't think the start of this thread had a negative tone toward Donna. It was about the disrespect shown to her family from the Sherriff's Dept. She worked there 20 yrs. Everyone including the criminals thought the world of her. She treated anyone she came in contact with kindness. One person made a negative comment but most of us reading these threads know enough to ignore it. I know her family as well and would gladly stand beside them in Donna's honor. Matter of fact I had a dicussion with a family member about this very subject.

So just because she worked with the department means that she was friends with everyone else who worked there? That's like expecting the entire staff force of *insert company of choice here* to take off work and go to a funeral for a colleague they may not have ever had any sort of relationship with.

Well I see it like this once again. The ppl she loved and loved her dearly were in attendance so forget who didn't come. It was a great service and I think she would've been happy to see all the ppl who came and showed her respect.

In this town once one negative thing happens you're no longer a part of them. Ask every other ex employee. Two of my family members worked there. One sued them due to getting injured and they were shunned.

I'm also sure you know where a topix thread ends up going. Negatively bashing ppl who are even deceased. I see it Everytime I get on here. And I'm willing to bet someone will end up talking shit. I myself will be offended greatly. I loved her dearly. It saddened me deeply that night her family called me and told me they just found her. I just think they should let it alone. Sometimes that's best

A name gets put on here & it's a down hill roll after that. When someone passes... leave them alone.

I don't understand how the first post here was negative. The subject was about the lack of respect from the Sheriff's Office. But some people have nothing better to do than add drama to any situation. You all can have all the drama your heart desires somewhere else. As for me and my family, we attended the funeral and we cried with the family. With that said, I hope and pray that this family can find comfort in God's loving arms. As for the rest of you negative people, maybe God will touch you in some way also.

I'm actually a family member and everyone knows whenever you put a name on here a hell storm of negativity begins. Even if it was about disrespect from the sheriff's dept, its going to end up with negative comments about MY Aunt Donnie. I see it all the time and bet you there will be something mean in the near future. But really who cares if they were there or not. Whenever she no longer worked there...she wasn't a part of their family anymore. She suffered heart attacks and other ailments prior to her passing and none of them were there. As her niece we could really care less. Its not a huge deal to anyone but the gossipers that want to stir a mess. Yes it may have been mentioned, but on topix is a Tad bit ridiculous. There's no sense in anyone starting a thread. I'm young and think its rather childish of you ppl. So lets stop this before it gets ugly on here and embarrasses my family. Thank you.

I am an employee of the department. Did not know donna very well but the few times we did interact due to working different rotations was nice. Wish I had known her better. R.I.P

I've known Donna for several years & was always happy to see her around. She always took the time to say say hi & always had a smile on her face. I was saddened to hear of her passing. I was unable to attend her services, but my heart was/is with the family. She will be missed!! RIP Donna

I worked with Donna years ago at Russell Stovers. We were close for a while, she even came to my house to visit. We drifted a part when I took a lay off, I had not seen her in years. It broke my heart to read ofher passing. She was a beautiful girl, always dressed so pretty. She worked 2 jobs to provide for herself and her son, Little Bill. What a sweetheart she was.

People are on here paying their respects. Don't you know how to ignore negative comments and just be happy that people want to show respect for a dead woman?
