I guess you failed to read where they called April, Pam's daughter a Ho. How disrespectful!!! That kind of act is what makes people get hateful. Sorry she can prove you all wrong seeing she knows stuff about the case only family knows. Now please be respectful to all the victims families that have been talked about and stop commenting about these families. If you google Donnie Ray Nelson this is what you get. If you see in the link the name kinnaird. Go to it and see Nelson was the uncle.

Back in the early 70's, there was a murder case of a child, first child murder of the decade in Putnam Co. The mother claimed that the child was abducted and results was that the little boy, age 3 was murdered by the stepfather (Adams) and was taken to the woods, somewhere else,(cant't remember all details, someone remember this?) and the police finally put 2 and 2 together. Convicted the mother and stepfather. Stepfather was on death row for a long time. Don't remember if the Adams man, died in prison or not. The mother served time, also. Would like to know of the results of the ppl involved. Long time ppl of this county should remember this. Shocked the county and brought new light to child abusers.
I believe that was 75 I lived in Algood at the time and participated in the search. A horrific case.

What about the dude that helped plan, hid Nelson over night and carried him out of town to hide him from police. I will give you a hint......he is a teacher and is married to a local Dr.
He was just as guilty as anyone, but now teaches your children.....

<quoted text>The victim, Little Patrick Adams, who lived in Algood. His step-dad, James Adams, truck driver, beat him to death and then he and the mother reported the little boy missing. James Adams was a truck driver and disposed of the child's body in Pickett Co., threw him over the side of the mountains on the curves on old road on the Byrdstown side of Obey River. Mr. Adams went to prison and died there. He was strung out on drugs and the mom was, I don't know what, but spineless, afraid, whatever. What a tragedy.
I remember this murder also.
they threw the child's body off the road , in the steep cliff curves going up the mountain to Byrdstown after crossing the old bridge over Dale Hollow Lake ( The Obey River ).
An unbelievable thing occurred. Someone lost a hubcap or something and found this childs body. It was unimaginable that the little boy's body could have been found but it was. Their perfect little murder wasnt so perfect after all.
I hope Mr. Adams is enjoying hell.

<quoted text>History Man, the murder of Mrs. Renfro is the first one I remember happening here. I believe in 1967? I have always felt as bad for the Sells family as I did for the Ramsey/Renfro families. Wasn't Larry Sells only 13 years of age when he did that? His family were good people but something sure was wrong with Larry. He had two older sisters in high school and I've often thought how tough it must have been for them to go to school every day.
I thought that Sells kid stabbed a woman to death while she stopped at the red light on Fisk at 10th. She had just got off work at one of the factories up on North Fisk , late at night or early in the morning. She didnt know him. Im sure this is right.

Wasn't it a neighbor, she lived at the corner of Shag Rag Road and Fisk, I believe that he lived in a trailer across the road and she lived in a little house at that corner. All of this is NOW gone and only empty fields remain. She was either going to work or coming home. He was one messed up kid, can't remember what happened to him, this was in the early 70"s, his last name was Sells. Anybody remember the details?

It was in the mid 1960's (1966 maybe?). The lady was stopped at the stop sign on Shag Rag Roadd at Fisk Road. Larry Ray Sells, a teenager who lived on Fisk Rd. just north of Whiteaker Springs Road, pulled Mrs. Renfro, who was leaving the factory where she worked for lunch, from her car and stabbed her. She was able to get away from him and run to a house nearby (Ragland's?). She was taken to the hospital, but died shortly thereafter.
After being convicted, Sells ecsaped a few years later and abducted another woman in the same area. I don't believe that she Ms. Boling) was seriously harmed. He was re-captured and later died in jail of cancer.
