That is correct. He was charged with voluntary manslaughter as it was deemed to be a 'bedroom/barroom' situation where someone acts in the heat of passion. Apparently the guy who was killed was also married and his spouse was none too thrilled that she was being cheated on, so asked the prosecution not to go for a really harsh punishment. He did some time, but got out doing relatively little time for killing someone.

In 1970 Rodney Dobbs brutually murdered my sister, Lucy Anne Fullerton, and to date he remains free. The fillowing link will give you enough of the information on the case to know that this crime depicts the epitome of corruption and misuse of the justice.

A billboard should be erected warning the people of Rodney Dobbs getting away with murder. Also, the State of Tennessee should have to answer for this misuse of justice.
So glad you posted on your sister. Never could understand how he went his merry way after the murder. He must have been kin to someone with lots of power or something. Thank you for the link also. Answered a lot of questions for me.

Yes Floyd Cartwright was a piece of shit. But I knew Jason personally and he was always very nice to me. He was a quiet type. So maybe the aura he gave scared people but he was a nice guy. No one deserves what happened to him.
I also think that the murder of Sen. Tommy Burks was absolutely the most memorable. His wife Charlotte is my cousin and it was not only a rough time for the family but for our county. I'll never forget that day. I know exactly where I was and what I was doing when my mom told me. My dad was there at the scene before they removed him. He and my dad were very close. I loved him dearly and I hope Low Life Looper rots in HELL for what he did.
TUG IS A PIECE OF CRAP PERIOD...JASON NEVER MESSED WITH ANYONE..NOT A FIGHTER LIKE TUG PERIOD.I'M SOOO GLAD HE IS NEVER GETTING OUT...NEVER. JASON DIDN'T DESERVE WHAT HAPPEN TO HIM..OR HIS FAMILY EITHER...JASON WAS MURDERED AND IT SHOULD'VE NEVER HAPPEN...R.I.P. JASON...WE MISS YOU SOOO MUCH!!!!

Was he the one connected to DA Bill Gibson ? Who killed Darlene Eldridge according to some reports and told that guy who killed
the 80 year old woman, chopped her up ,put her in the feezer that he got way to much time for it? Then lost his job as DA for ethic violations for Helping a Murderer?

What about the lady who was killed at M&M Market? Seems like I heard she was in the cooler? I've heard a few versions of that.
She was a very sweet woman, I can"t remember her name though. She had seperated from her husband and had an O.P. on him. He still went to her work and she called the police numerous times but she was told he could go to a public place. Back then an O.P. was fairly new to L.E., anyway he went in to her work (M&M market), her kids ran out the back door as he went in with a shotgun. Her daughter went to the neighboring house and called police. Her husband chased her either into the office or backdoor and shot her in the back of the head. After shooting her he started out the front door shooting at Officers where he was then shot and killed. Her son Ben Bowers was arrested in late 2010 for the murder of his Grandmother.

--my name is bill and im pushing old age now ---but---2 cases stick in my mind so much the Lucy Ann Fullerton case approx 1970 and the Draper Magee case from the 1960S (drapers case may have occurred in Jackson county, cant remember)--MR Magee
killed for insurance monies--suspects convicted and jailed---miss Fullertons,,murderer known and case shaky because of many factors including bad handling ,,poor written law,, and insanity of defendant -BOTH CASES TERRIBLE FOR ALL AND I WISH I COULD WIPE THE PAIN AWAY FOR THE FAMILY MEMBERS AND LOVED ONES -----in my humble experience and knowledge of life--i think we should all try to live a better existence and watch our friends backs---i think so many rats in a cage breed insanity and for one im trying to keep my close friends and family rats sane-maybe we need a little more space to stretch our legs and not have to walk on someone elses toes-or maybe not being greedy or many of the major commandments need to be stressed in our families and taught to our very young people --ID SAY THESE THINGS ARE MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN MATH OR SCIENCE--EVEN THOUGH I LOVE SCIENCE AND MATH-----maybe its just not solvable-- maybe we are no better than what Desmond said "naked apes"---im not sure---thought i would have figured this out by now--guess again bill --good luck people--------

Yes, it was...that was my great uncle Hollis Tallent. They didn't accomplish the theft of his dollar easily. He was a very small man, but put up a great fight. No one will tell me what has happened to them, and when it happened we lived back west. Unfortunately they are still alive and walking. At least his bloody dollar found in his bloody wallet in Callahan's bloody jean pocket didn't buy a bloody thing but a ride to jail for those two wastes of dirt.

I'm pleased to tell you that they both got life without parole.Don is Currently serving his miserable excuse for a life in Morgan County Correctional Facility in Wartburg TN. I'm also fairly certain Andrea Shuttuck is in a women's prison in Nashville.

What about when Lawrence Verble was murdered outside his club, shortly after he had provided evidence about Ray Blanton and all the dirty dealings that were going on there? That one is still unsolved, isn't it?
The Lucy Fullerton case was really dreadful, but the perpetrator Rodney Dobbs was apparently very politically well connnected. He drove himself home to Kingston, I believe it was, and turned himself in, and the Cookeville cops were called and told to go find her body. And he's free as the breeze and has probably had a fairly normal life.
There was some question, in the Darlene Eldridge case, as to whether she was actually murdered, or just died in the fire...I have my suspicions about that one.
The Michael Key cases, where he kidnapped and killed the young man who worked at Red Foods and killed his neighbor Jodie Lafever was a pretty famous one.
James Adams, the guy who killed his little stepson up at Algood and threw his body off a bluff up in Pickett County actually got out of prison on parole at a much later date, say twenty years later I'd guess, but I don't know what happened to him after that.
