Looper was also one of the stupidest and dumbest murderers to ever walk.

Bet that big ego and delusions of being powerful ran down Low Life Looper's (or was it Low Tax Looper) pants leg when he got to trip and shuffle into the court room stylishly dressed in cuffs and leg irons. Last I heard about Looper he was on 20/20, 60 Minutes, or a similar show whining around that he didn't kill anyone. There is no end to stupid.

Tommy Burks was a Senator, not a Congressman. Get your history facts straight, before posting, please!!

He would have gotten the chair, if it had not been for the Burks family requesting life, without the possibility of parole. Byron Looper owns the Burks family his ignorant life. How's that for irony? I would have "hung" him at the courthouse square, but they didn't ask me. just saying..........

Back in the early 70's, there was a murder case of a child, first child murder of the decade in Putnam Co. The mother claimed that the child was abducted and results was that the little boy, age 3 was murdered by the stepfather (Adams) and was taken to the woods, somewhere else,(cant't remember all details, someone remember this?) and the police finally put 2 and 2 together. Convicted the mother and stepfather. Stepfather was on death row for a long time. Don't remember if the Adams man, died in prison or not. The mother served time, also. Would like to know of the results of the ppl involved. Long time ppl of this county should remember this. Shocked the county and brought new light to child abusers.

There is a United States Senator. Maybe you've heard of them? Every state elects 2.

If you can't be civilized then maybe you need to take your hostility away from our history thread. You got a real problem to go off the deep end that easily. No one who is making a sincere statement should have to be afraid of ridicule from morons like you. Did it ever occur in the last living 1/2 brain cell in your head that you could have simply corrected that poster instead of making an ass of yourself and disrupting an entire thread? I would be afraid of what I would catch by biting you so you're safe.

Maybe we should all just ignore "point of view" Byrdstown, since their sole purpose of being here is to disrupt.

Wasn't there a serial killer caught in cookeville years ago? He didn't kill here he just happened to be passing thru and got arrested some way. Can't remember many details but If I remember correctly he was one of the more prolific serial killers ever caught.

I don't recall anything about that but I may have been living in another state when that occurred. Would love to know more.

I wish I could recall more. I came across the city of cookeville while reading about serial killers on a website. But the killers name and the website are not in my memory any more.

I disagree. If a person is going to get on here and carry on about the Burks family then they should have the facts. He was a state senator.

The little five year old that was murdered by his stepfather was named Patrick Adams. He was thrown out on the side of a road up around Byrdstown. He was important too.
