I laugh when i hear comments driven by fear. The bible teaches us to love one another. But for some, hate seems to overpower love for our fellow man. I guess it stems from basic fear. Bottom line is people fear what they don't understand. I bet you are afraid of other races, spiders, and boogymen too. Maybe you will find more tolerance when your life is saved or some how helped by the very people you fear. Good day sir.

If you want to support their prejudice and hatred, why don't you just drive up to the window and give them cash as opposed to actually buying that greasey crap. Keep it up and Tennessee will pass Mississippi and become the fattest state. And move your fat asses off of Neal Street! Contrary to popular fundie opinion, it is not a parking lot! The speed limit is 45 mph there, and you're going to get someone killed.

It's funny that the freedom of opinion on marriage gets twisted into fear and hate

While i do not agree with chick-fil-a, i respect thier opinion. I do however take issue with the hatred espoused by some. I choose not to eat there because I do not believe in their views just as those that do share their views are free to dine there if they choose. Today I have heard more homophobic, hate filled speech from people touting thier support. We can disagree. Debate is what makes this country great. All i ask is that we keep it classy.

The people going there are against gay marriage. Which right now is almost 100% of Putnam County. Traffic is jammed near there. Because gay marriage and gays are disgusting sinners and aids spreaders! They have no chicken left. Kudos to Chik-Fil-A for saying NO to same-sex marriage!

You did NOT hear a single homophobic or hate-filled remark from the founder of Chick-Fil-A. That is an outright lie. You can read the entire statement he gave, and he in now way, shape, or form condemns anybody in any way nor disparge a single person or spout any homophobic statements. It is a LIE for you to say that. It's o.k. for you to lie, though. In your world it's acceptable if it's done in support of your agenda. That's how you liberals look at the world. If someone says they don't support gay marriage, it is o.k. for you to then classify that person as a Bible-thumping bigotted homophobic racist. That is because liberalss do not believe in freedom of speech, they merely pay lip-service to it when it suits their interest to do so.

None of you disgusting gays are. Keep trying to push this tolerance and acceptance shit on people. It is NOT going to work in this area.

Oh thats right. I forgot that my sin is greater than yours. Funny how i have never seen that in the bible. I tell you what. Lets kick the gays out of putnam county. While we're at it lets kick out the drunks, the adulterers, liers, and anybody else that has sinned and fallen short. Then it will be just you, you're 3 good teeth, and all the chicken sandwiches you can eat.

When i spoke of hate i was referring to bigots, many of whom have started to spew thier venom on this site already. And it is a mistake to assume that i am liberal in my views because of my stance on this subject. I hope people understand that hatred for the gay community is the reason many of our youth decide to kill themselves instead of being disowened by family that is supposed to love them. Maybe my God is different from those that spew their hate. My God is a loving God and no matter what you believe, in the end we will all be held accountable.

I am not anti gay, but I chose to eat there today to show my support for his right to say that he supports traditional marriage. If gay people can say what they want without backlash from the media then the owner of chik fil a should also.

A person's ideas are an "opinion" only to a point. When you try to force your ideas on everyone, resulting in harm to many, your so-called "opinions" become hatred and predjudice, immoral and un-Christian. Hitler had opinions. I guess you think he was a fine Christian. You talibangelicals always use this worn out argument that your beliefs are merely opinions and therefore any opposition is inappropriate. Anyone opposing your hatred and prejudice doesn't believe in free speech. That's an absurd, cowardly, and disgusting attitude.

We Tennesseeans hate the characterization of others that we are backward, ignorant, bigotted, prejudiced, etc. How can we possibly argue with them. All they have to do is spend five minutes on Topix and we have validated all of their claims.

Tell me exactly how homosexuals are hurt somehow by not being allowed to marry. And, tell me as well, why it is vitally important to our society that we change the law to allow them to. And don't be stupid or hysterical or emotional about it, don't start this crap about how they can't be together in hospitals or make life-choices for each other because they most certainly can, they simply have to fill to take the time to file the proper legal paperwork to arrange their lives that way, and the legal process to do so is actually THOUSANDS of dollars cheaper than the average wedding. So, being as they already have the ability to be "married" in every sense of the word other than with some formal ceremony and state recognition, then WHY is it so vitally important we change the law in order to make it seem that being "gay" is no different whatsoever then being "straight?" Oh, and I love the idea that you get to classify anybody you choose to as being hate-filled or intolerant because they refuse to accept your opinion that gay marriage should be legal. It just re-itterates my point: liberals have no morals, and if you dare speak out against their agenda, they will attack you mercilessly, slander you, and accuse you of being "evil." I also noticed you could not stop yourself from the Hitler crap, either. Yep. Liberals never change.

Bullsh*t!! He said they "treat everyone with honor, dignity, and respect regardless of sexual orientation". To "..bestow genuine hospitality and be a positive influence" to everyone. Tell me how you do that when saying that you want to legally preclude a whole class of individuals from more than two dozen important legal rights bestowed only on people you deem to meet your religious criteria. All based on sexual orientation. This man's comments are insulting and arrogant lies. But you have the guts to try to turn it all around and say that others are lying about him! You're a real piece of work! But then as J.R. Ewing said, "After you give up your integrity, everything else is a piece of cake". Eat up!
